Yes, please react to the whole program, the day with Aurora and the concert. Some others have done it in 2 videos. The day with Aurora, and then the concert in a second reaction. That seems to work very well.
Sometimes she sings in a way that reminds me of Dolores O'Riordan, specially in this song. Idk why, I think her tone and the accent have a similar vibe
Just what I was thinking while I listened. It's no surprise that some reactors mention an Irish sound to her voice on certain songs, it's really strong on this one.
We don't know why she chose this song, but the choice was probably done at the show with only limited preparation at the show, because you can see her phone on the piano with the lyrics probably? She has done this 4 times over the years on the Norwegian radio station NRK P3, where they get 30-60 min to prepare a cover that they choose from a list when they arrive, and with her Boney M Rasputin cover she wrote in the youtube comments afterwards, that they had only rehearsed for ~15min. The 3 others were: Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman, Imagine Dragons - Believer, Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (when Aurora was 17, 2 months after being "discovered"). Aurora has done ~30 covers over the years most of them live, 4 of them only with studio versions, and some of the live ones also has released studio singles, here are a few more examples: David Bowie - Life on Mars, The Beatles - Across The Universe, Oasis - Half The World Away, Bob Dylan - Make You Feel My Love and Mr. Tambourine Man, Leonard Cohen - Famous Blue Raincoat and So Long Marianne and The Partisan.
Her cover of Across The Universe holds a special place in my heart. It’s just so magical and delicate… I have goose just by remember how beautiful it is 💜
Just beautiful. Her covers are generally astounding. In a way, she does it even with her own songs sometimes, so... we love her for that too, I guess.😍 Thanks for the nice reaction to Aurora, our musical oxygen.🙂👍
Aurora's cover of the Beatles' Across the Universe on Like A Version was the first thing I ever saw/heard of her, and that was it I was never the same. Other amazing covers are Thank You (Alanis Morissette) & Life on Mars (David Bowie).
Aurora has done many Great covers. You already heard Life on Mars at the Concert, but you could check out "God is a woman" "Believer" imagine Dragons cover and "Across the universe" Beatles Cover (Like a version one is the Best)
Very nice! She makes songs I sometimes don't even like into something great😊. My two favorites covers of her are "Across the Universe" at Triple J and "La La La" at Radio Hamburg, but she has so many good ones by now. One that impresses me a lot is her version of "Believer". From what I've heard she had no clue about the song, but picked it because she likes dragons 😄. One of those one hour challenges with just her on the piano.
What treat! 4 Reactions on one day. I`m in heaven! Thanks for that. She sings a song with Sondre Lerche, wich brings me in the same mood as this one. And it is alovely duett.
Ehem…. 😉 Official mv: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XSK1Bt9O0Pw.html&feature=sharea Live version I uploaded from Portør Pensjonat a couple of weeks ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rXW5UDZvlm0.html&feature=sharea (I might have linked them somewhere else so sorry for spamming 😆).
Hi Ashlena, I loved the two double reactions of today. For a possible next AURORA-double I would like to suggest reacting to the two short documentaries "Into the light" (about 6 minutes long) and "Nothing is eternal" (11 minutes long) about her. "Into the light" (2015): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3AbrDWIwBO4.html "Nothing is eternal" (2016): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4vdBorK67tk.html In these documentaries she speaks about her youth, the beginnings of her career and about the messages she wants to convey with her songs. The documentaries give the viewers a glimpse into AURORA's unique personality and on her views on the world around her.
Ashlena I’m wishing my weeks away waiting for these reactions :-). Thanks for the 4 today. I know you said you wouldn’t do any more concerts as they’re too long but please do the KEXP Iceland it’s only 30 mins and it will literally blow your mind. Also the HAIK tv program is a great way to learn more about Aurora. It’s followed by a 30 min concert which is also magical.
Yay, more Aurora. I love this cover, I am not familiar with Harry Styles since I don't listen to mainstream music, but Aurora makes it beautiful and probably her own like all her other covers. I didn't hear your baby monitor, but I'm old and my hearing isn't the best, lol. Moving on to the concert now, so excited. 😍
FYI, I have not seen any of the Aurora videos you reacted to for this week and I am surprised and delighted to discover something I hadn't enjoyed before and share it with you.
Your absolutly not the worse. Listening to Aurora, I didn't even notice :) Well. I didn't know that song. Also not that cover. I'm glad discovering it by your react :)
Ah, okay... you also reacted to "Golden" as well... I wrote in the comments to your "A temporary high" reaction a few minutes ago, that you should also check out this cover here. And by the way... no need to spologize for the baby monitor... we all make mistakes... you too and it's totally okay, because it shows we are all not perfect, neither me, nor you. But all these little imperfections also makes youi the person you are and they are part of everything that makes you YOU ! You are perfect, just the way you are... including all those little imperfections. Best wishes : Gerry
Aurora is amazing when she covers other artists check her out Beatles, Cohen, Bowie, Ariana Grande , Massive Attack and a bunch of others with her Love and Magic she gives new life to great music of all times.......
Ok, you're not the worst youtuber in the world. Not even close. Got so caught up in the reaction, I completely missed the constant static hiss in the background until you brought it up. lol Needless to say, that's a wonderful rendition of Golden. Wonderful is a common word, but I wonder at the seemingly effortless beauty Aurora is able to bring to this song, wonder at the fullness a few simple piano keystrokes can imbue in it, wonder at the atmosphere she can create with her tone. The performance is wonderful. And I enjoy watching someone immerse themselves in the moment as Aurora takes them on a ride. There's something special in that, I think. Special is a suitably vague word for something I can't quite define. Anyway, to watch you appreciate that brings a smile, so thanks for that. Here's to hoping for a great 2024! Take care, be well, and enjoy the day.
Great reactio and don't worry it sounds Great. By the way she has covered Alanis Morisette Thank you. It's quite close to the original but it sound Great. I think Morisette is one of Auroras influences. Just listen and you will understand.
As you are obsessed with Aurora, I am sure you will also like her non-music personality in videos like "Aurora being hilarious out of context for 6 minutes straight "
