@@rosemay75 It is very correct to add that. He is a very good drummer who sees himself first and foremost as a producer (a bit like Simon Phillips). During a drum session I gave him some input on accentuating certain beats. Instead of going back into the recording booth, he just grabbed a midi keyboard, quickly added some well placed samples and it was perfect in less than 2 minutes👌. I think that kind of efficient attitude is part of why he and Aurora are such a good match😊
You can really see that Aurora is "directing" the rest of the band with her movements. Its very evident in the song "It Happen Quiet" You can see Silja is paying close attention to what Aurora is doing with her body and arms so she can anticipate where she is going. Aurora is improvising so much live that it can be a "nightmare" to back her up. After Silja left to do her own thing, you can see that her new backing (well, two backings now cos that is what it takes to even try to replace Silja) really struggling to keep up with Aurora in the first live shows after Silja. They are however really coming into their own now so kudos to them. It takes some chops to try to follow in Silja's footsteps but I think they are doing a fantastic job now.
"The River" having such a unique lyric, "Drinking your eyes", for when your tears flow so heavy, you end up swallowing your tears before you can wipe them. 😥🤣👍
I’ve said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it,as an artist Aurora is just at a different level to anyone else,as a singer, songwriter, performer she’s pure Genius, but more than that she’s one of the most beautiful humble human beings you would ever wish to meet.❤️
Thanks a million for this Ashlena! One of my favourite parts of this concert, being a mom of a daughter myself, is seeing Aurora’s parents in the audience, beaming. I can only imagine what it’s like to stand there and watch your child, with such talent, inspire other people. Her parents inspire me, based on what Aurora has said about them, to be the best mom I can be to my girl.
Yeah just imagine how proud they must have felt during that 😄 I actually met her parents once and tried thanking them for what they've done and they wouldn't have any of it, lol 😄 Her father joked that raising Aurora was a job that took all of 30 minutes and from then on it was all Aurora who did everything herself 😄 They are the nicest, most humble human beings. It's easy to see where Aurora got her loving nature from.
Aurora mentioned and thanked her mother many, many times for the support and help she received. Curiously, she never spoke about her father, that I know of, apart from once, where she said that she inherited the shape of her nose from him 🤔
Yes, yes, and yes. That's pure happiness! I've never heard her do it anywhere else but in that song. At that moment. I like to imagine that it was totally unexpected, that it was her joy exploding. And I have no reason to believe otherwise :) It's my favourite version of the song, for that reason alone. And in the video, when she shakes her head with that almost childish grimace of jubilation.
You are crying.... I am too, and I have seen this 20-30 times before! I am so disipointed with myself... I stood only 2-3 meters away from Auroras parents, and her sister Miranda at the Kongsberg consert. I could easily have talked to them. But I was so afraid to do it, to dont be able to say anything, to start crying or something. I am not that kind of person, I dont get emotional normally, I have no problem talking to anybody, but Aurora messes with my head in ways I have given up to understand. I so wanted to thank them for supporting Aurora so we can have her in our lives. Especially her mother for telling her that she should share her music. I met Aurora on the street also, and I did not manage to say anything!
The sentence Aurora says in Norwegian before the song Daydreamer is: "Don't forget to dream big. It is very important." The song is about having big dreams during the day, not just when we are sleeping and dreams don't get much bigger than being a moonwalker! 😄
I'm so glad you were emotionally devasted, join the club. Emotion is the key to Aurora, you can see her so emotionally involved, either in her song or her audience. Amazing Woman. Thanks to her parents for raising such a person.
See Mama and Papa Asknes.....can you imagine being Aurora's parents ? Like it was you that brought this absolutely unique creature to this world someone who has changed so many lives Big time big big talk.................
Thank you so much for watching this !!!It’s so beautiful and magical!!!! And don’t worry I think we all got emotional throughout this as it’s so ethereal 🤍🤍🤍
I have seen a few of these HAIK programs with other artists, but this episode with Aurora stands out as a very special production. Aurora is so special and a lovely sweet human beeing. I have cried to this program and her music several times..😢😊
Thank you so much for your wonderful reaction! I still find it hard to comprehend how amazing she is live; Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Nidarosdomen, KEXP, Haik and all the others. This Haik documentary/concert is so special and I wish the US (and Canada, too) had something like the quality of NRK productions that Norway has. Just stunning Happy Holidays and I can’t wait for your Once Aurora reaction!
I will never grow tired of this excellent documentary. They really captured everything that makes her such a special human being--and demonstrates wonderfully the saying-you get back what you give. So nice to see her celebrated!! I would only hope that when she returns to Ontario that she might take some time for herself to explore maybe the Bruce Trail, or Algonquin or even the Scarborough Bluffs. I am sure she would love it!
Oh my… watching you cry for looking at others crying made me cry… A bit more than a year since my last Aurora concert - and less than 3 months to the next… 😊
What i don't understand is why is this not on every tv channel in the world. Promoting love not hate. All the crap going on in the world right know, we need a weekly Aurora tv channel. She is a once in a life time artist. Special Girl 💗💞
Great reaction ❤. What an amazing concept - I agree, this should be done more often. Give back to the artists who give so much of themselves to the world. Beautiful & yes, emotional. Ash, consistently ruining my sleep (…I know, my own fault! 🤣)
@@staffankarlsson1428 I wish foreigners knew how stunningly beautiful of a language Norwegian is. It's one of the most diverse and deep languages on the planet, with countless gorgeous dialects and deep, deep roots to ancient times. 🤶❤️🎅
Oh, thank you for that transcription. I already get the translation. But seeing her words written down, even in a language I don't understand, is a plus. Especially as the translations generally omitted the repetition. Takk.
I love the documentary and HAIK concert. It was as always a joy to watch "with you". Great performance and songs, but performance of “Infections of a Different Kind” was indeed something of "different kind" - just amazing and very magical, I would say something more then just a performance of the song. Ps. I agree Silja Sol is great (my favorite Aurora back up singer) and she has amazing voice too. I think also Odd Martin harmonized with Aurora in very cool way :).
Omg, thank you so much for posting this whole documentary on RU-vid, I’m so happy!❤️ I think this concert is the best Aurora concert ever, what a dream being in her concert in the forest!🥹 This documentary is definitely really emotional one, it just makes you love Aurora even more!🥰
Beautiful reaction! If this documentary and concert didn't give you the feels, I'd have been worried for you. 😉 Just a great performance from start to finish. I love seeing her proud parents in the front, having the surprise male choir, watching Ane Brun rock to the same song she covered earlier in the day, seeing the epic "Daydreamer" show closer, etc.! And most of all seeing Aurora express so much joy! She deserves every bit of it.
Hi there Ashlena. When I saw that you were going to have the whole HAIK on the same day, it was really the highlight of Christmas Day. A fantastic reaction from you and I can't thank you enough for your compliments to Silja. To keep a steady pace and do it so remarkably well is a feat. She is definitely my favorite backup vocal ever. Many have the super beautiful and epic Nidarosdomen concert as her best or other concerts but I think this one is the best.. why then yes. This concert is AURORA at her core, out in nature with the audience close. What makes me so warm inside is that the whole program shows what a warm, emotional and above all what a humble person she is. Excuse my bad English. 🥳💖💖💖💖
A great documentary topped off by a great reaction. This concert is top notch and priceless, as was your reaction. Your surprise at the male choir, kinda epic, lol. Thanks again for a great Christmas treat for us all. Happy New Year, enjoy your little one, they grow up to fast. ❤
Forever grateful that I had the chance to take my daughter to see Aurora at a small club in Los Angeles a few years ago. Experiencing it through her then 8 year old eyes was just amazing. Definitely shed some tears at that concert. ❤
Thank you Ash. Just when you think your emotions are in check Aurora reach in you and pulls them out in the form of tears. Emotions good ,bad, happy, sadness and most of all lost emotions.
I think we must rent The documentary Once Aurora for you. That one will bring even more tears. But that must be a patreon thing due to copyright issues.
Thank you. What a lovely reaction to our fairy princess. A potion of aurora a day, keeps the dark clouds away. I will see her live for the first time in my hometown of Stavanger March next year. Can't wait to finally experiencing her live. Love from Norway!
You are very right. It's truly heartbreaking. But be aware that it is an edited reality so the depiction of who is the bad guys is not necessarily always entirely accurate. Like for most people, the transition from being a young person to becoming an adult is a tough transformation period. And she actually got sick while it occured. Luckily most of us are not in the spotlight, and doesn't have a camera team following us documenting it. But as the honest person she is, she allowed it (And she personally knew the camera team operators and film makers very well). She is in a totally different place emotionally today though (as an adult) 🫠.
Ashlena, many people, including myself, when requesting that you react to this, said that it was magical and watching it can literally change someone's life. So, there was more than a hint there that it would be an emotional experience. You had already reacted to the Nidarosdomen concert, so there were plenty of clues of what to expect from this brilliant production.
It's so touching to see how moved you are Ashlena. It made my eyes tear up too. In a good way. Thank you. I always watch when your reactions appear because of your emotional sincerity. After all Aurora is also a kinda "cry baby" herself🤗 who considers crying both important and good (even if it can make singing difficult). When she finished singing "warrior" to the two girls, she said in Norwegian: "It was so hard not to start crying. Because you were so beautiful there you sat. What she says before the last song is: "Don't forget to dream big, because that is important" I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I believe you have a beautiful soul, Ashlena ❤️ Crying is healing and i have learned that the hard way, but glad that i know that now ❤️ Btw, this is my hometown Bergen ❤️
I'm so glad you did this! I know it deviates from your music reactions, but this and Once Aurora are definitely worth it. Once Aurora is a good insight into the music industry as well.
Thank you for dooing this! That was realy something spcial. I don`t know how many times I have seen this documentary bevor, but I cried through with you all the time anyway.
Thanks for this wonderful christmas gift... you sharing this concert with us. They cried, you cried, I cried... but also lots of smiles and joy 😃. A very happy new year to you!🥳❤
Funny how I sit through this concert and from the first song I think to myself, (this is my favorite song) and then the next song plays and Im like (No, this is my favorite song!) And then the 3rd song starts, I think you get the picture here . . . . . . ♥ 😊
