The saddest thing is that the majority of people who watched One Piece didn't notice this song. It plays for a little bit during the episode but most prominently in the credits, and since Netflix has a dumb feature that cuts off credits by default...
Aurora has been showing up more and more performing on other artists' songs and on soundtracks to tv series and games. I think one day Aurora will be asked to score a whole soundtrack, and it will be amazing!
Aurora was absolutely perfect for this song and captures the emotion very well. This really does put into perspective all of the pain Nami has been through in her character arc for this early part of One Piece. I hope they make more songs for each season as the characters grow because if they could portray the struggle and tenacity of Nami so well here then just imagine how it will be later not just for her but other characters like Brook or Robin!
Wow, i watched this whole series and somehow didnt notice the song.. watching this , i am sitting here crying.. its amazing... and tells her story so well. its amazing.. This is my Favorite from Aurora for a very long time.. this is going to be set on repeat... love it!
To find out that Aurora was singing Nami:s theme was awesome😭😭 (It also fits very well since, if One Piece was set irl, the author has said Nami would be from Sweden and Aurora is from Norway) and YES pls watch the live action - it’s really good!!!

They said as soon as they wrote it, they knew they wanted Aurora and no one else. 2. There is a full orchestral ensemble. If you listen, you can hear all types of instruments. 3. Though the music and lyrics are not hers, she manages to imbue both strentgh and fragility. Not many artists can do that.
Aurora is amazing in so many ways, but she delivers a masterclass in phrasing. The way she deliver her lines is so creative and rythmical. Never standard when I doesn't have to be and never cluttered when it shouldn't be. Just listening to her structuring of ALL her songs/performances is an endless bag of candy.

It is somewhat different for Aurora but I like it very much (it is not her 'original' song). Especially after 2-3 listens I started to love it even more. It is beautiful song and great vocals. I also sense this feeling of adventure + also uplifting feeling. It fits great to this tv series, the story and it is really connected with character. It is so cool she making music also for tv series, games etc Ps. This song convinced me to watch tv series right after premiere:). Ps2. I think the reason I needed like 2-3 listens to embrace it was a feeling that her voice is more produced/mixed then usual, but I guess it is because it is part of movie production. I am not an expert and can be wrong (like to hear other opinions), but it was my feeling in first listen, like more then usual altered/mixed.

When i first heard that song i immediatly broke into tears. Its so touching and.. i guess we are all having a phase or two when we just feel kinda lost.. and this song gives back so much hope and power..
I always like your fun Aurora commentary. We should try to petition Netflix for her to do some music for when/if they do that remake of Narnia that keeps being rumored. It would be perfect
My best friend and I both love Aurora and she sent me this today. I haven’t watched the show but I had it on repeat in work for 3hrs straight. This is one of my favourite songs from her. I got major goose bumps and that hardly ever happens! The melody is INSANELY beautiful! She’s using a little more layering than usual so I was a little thrown at first but I got that legendary/unmistakable Aurora feel almost instantly
Oh, cool! I recommended/“warned” you about this song a few weeks back. Glad you enjoyed it (more than I thought you would…but it's growing on me, as well. :) You know how some artists redo songs? For instance, Tarja [formerly from Nightwish, of course] has done a "Tarja Mix" of a couple of songs that weren't fully hers. I'd love to see AURORA do this with My Sails Are Set, maybe with Magnus and Askjell. But it's Netflix, so probably not. And you've never read or watched One Piece? Even after Michael B. Jordan enthusiastically recommended it? It's only 1000+ episodes or over a hundred volumes, haha. People seem to really like this miniseries, though, perhaps give it a go. It's on my epic watchlist.

One Piece being the most selling manga and second best selling comic in existence (after Superman), yes yes you should check it out. I suggest the video "Appeal of One Piece: Where to Start" for a short first introduction about the series and if enjoyed also his follow-up video "Why You Should Watch/ Read One Piece". Singlehandedly the most well written, emotional and epic story and the most fantastic and detailed world building. And unlike most tv shows it gets better and better instead of worse over time. best piece of entertainment i have ever consumed, manga and anime

Great reacction video, mate. Aurora's vocals fits this song so well, and the lyrics are great. I'm not overly familiar with the One Piece universe, but this song seems to fit the character it's written for to a T. To me it's about someone who's pushed past their breaking point, but who just keeps on going. Someone on the ragged edge who soldiers through because you don't know any other way to be. You'll do the job you're there for even if it destroys you. Someone who sees themselves as less important than what they're tasked with acomplishing.
... Sky, then One Piece and did you see that they added "cure for me" to "Just dance 2024" (and people are loving it, obviously) ? At this point, I believe she is on her way to becoming not only one of the top artists of our time in terms of quality but also one of the most popular. As she continues to reach a broader audience, I don't see any possibility that people will overlook her genius or her authenticity. I really believe her legacy will be comparable to names as big as the Beatles and Michael Jackson. Maybe it's just my bias speaking, but I listen to a lot of different artists, many of them not well-known but still consider them to be very good, but I can see why not everybody likes them. But honestly, what is there not to like about her and her music? I've never seen this overlap of likeability and musicality in a human being ever before.
I had no knowledge of this song existing until your reaction popped up in my feed. So going in blind I think it took me 15 seconds to conclude that this wasn't Aurora's writing. But overall it was a nice song. The mixing sounds extremely flat and compressed (I haven't listened with my headphones, but I have pretty good speakers) and considering it is recorded for a TV/streaming series I assume it was mastered for TV, which has to take into consideration that so many TV-sets have horribly bad speakers.
You should check out One Piece, you should love it. The series and the anime, although both are not without flaws. No job is perfect. But you are going to have a great and wonderful adventure. In the series, Aurora's music embellishes the storyline and the storyline embellishes the music.
I like the song and her vocals are as excellent as ever, but the whole thing sounds like the engineer ran it through a filter that's the audio equivalent of putting Vaseline on the camera lens.

Different but what else do we expect from Aurora? I would love to hear what she does with this as a live song. Stripped down or built up? This one hit me in the surprise stakes, particularly as I recently bought a boat.
I love the lyrics, I love the instruments, I love Aurora's voice. But I hear it a little weird like the quality is reduced?? At first I thought my headphones were broken. I love it but the audio is ringing in my ears, is there some kind of filter? Wish I could listen to it more it's honestly a really amazing song. Hi, i listend to Auroras cover version from "god is a Woman" today. It is great. Then i listend to the original from Ariana Grande. That illustrates perfect what i ment with 'overproduced' in my comment to this song. Try it out and guess which version won 🙂.
I think the Vocals are overproduced. Auroras Voice does not need that. Ok, it is a production for Netflix, maybe they want its sound so. Her singing is great as ever.
I do not care about one piece, I have never had any interest in it, so this song gives me more so associations to Odysseus on the stormy seas longing to go home to his wife after being gone for twenty years I always adore hearing your feelings and thoughts on all sorts of music, but especially when it comes to Aurora
Than the song writers did a really incredible job because quiet a few people call One Piece a modern Odyssey. Someone even made a 6 hour long video analysis on RU-vid about this.
@@f.carasind4188 I mean, they’re both stories of oceanic adventures so association to the odyssey isn’t saying much, I’m certain there are other stories containing similar subject matters that can be conjured with these lyrics
I love Aurora so much that I almost by default love everything she does, but this song feels like they overproduced her voice. Doesn't feel like Aurora to me. But I still can't not like it just because 😊
