Hey mate what Honda would u recommend if I was completely off grid and wanted to run the aircon? I’m chasing after a good generator money isnt an issue
@@TinderTuesdays- either the EU22 or EU32. I would suggest emailing Honda and checking with them to see if the EU22 will handle the start load. Air conditioning units typically have a very high start load and that’s where some generators struggle. Some air conditioners have “soft start” which means they don’t require the extra start load and these are much easier for the generator.
Hi Stephen, the Anderson on the draw bar is wired back to the batteries via a diode. The diode stops the camper batteries from draining back to the vehicle but the camper batteries will receive some charge from the tow vehicles alternator. It’s not the best way to do it, but it also isn’t uncommon. I’m not sure what the current models are coming with but I do know that StarVision now has a supply arrangement with Projecta and that Projecta visited the StarVision factories and recommended an all Projecta power solution. Hopefully they have included a DC/DC charger but I can’t confirm that as I haven’t seen a new installation yet.
Yes, absolutely, you can plug portable solar panels into the draw bar Anderson but only if they have a built in regulator (solar controller). Again, it’s not the most efficient way to do it, but it will work.
