Its not really overpowered at all, its like an atlanta. with decent positioning and a decent player, you can do some funny stuff, but hardly meta.

@@ryanfreeman5083 Its also kind of like Harugumo too, minus having SAP. I mean, Gumo is fun, but low fire chance (especially with IFHE, which is almost required) means that even with all those shells you're chucking you're not getting very many fires. And even with IFHE and being able to penetrate 37mm of armor her low individual damage per shell means against heavy cruisers and battleships she's going to barely tickle them. 33% of max damage of her HE is only maybe 400 damage. SAP is what makes Austin bonkers.

That is literally the business model of most game devs that sell new models/characters in a PvP game. Release OP model/character, everyone buys it to be OP, it gets nerfed once they collect all the cash, rinse and repeat.

This ship is NOT low armored. It has 32mm armor, which makes it probably more tanky than a Hindenburg. And that's why people will have some nightmares against her.

For the average player, this doesn’t seem OP..with that HP, the average player is probably going to open up without any cover and go BOOM in the first few mins of the game..if I am seeing this in a Shima (which is not OP for sure) all I gotta do is keep him spotted..no need to even bother firing torps at the guy

DPM of Austin with MBRB activated SAP: roughly 1500000 HE: roughly 1000000 + almost 60 fires per minute(with fire resistance coefficient, accuracy and RNG is roughly 20, what a bad joke)

Austin without MBRB but reload mod and Heavy SAP/HE skill 303k SAP DPM (worst than any tier 10 CLs and Des Moines/Salem) 202k HE DPM (compare to stock Gearing which has 216k lmao)

Austin is strong no doubt, but she is a glass cannon without smoke. In random games you have to play so carefully. She also doesn't have the high shell arcs that the other US cruisers have, so she can't camp medium to high islands either. Watch what happens when a BB with 18inch guns or bigger hits it.

It is way more easy to do dmg in a thunderer than in a Austin. 50% of the games you will do nothing with Austin in a game because you get devstriked or the enemys are running all the time. Wargaming's new business model: Step 1: put a completely broken ship without further development unto the live server to "test" it Step 2: praise it as balanced by showing it's strengths and weaknesses in certain situations. Step 3: Look at the popularity charts. Step 4: If it's popular and sold well for an extended period of time, then remove it from the armory and silently nerf it. Step 5: Create a new ship and repeat the process. This is 6D chess by WG, clearly :0

So at this point the only way to deal with an Austin is to get an RN BB, load the HE and stay beyond its gun range, so you need someone else to spot it for you.

50% player here but I have a 33% win rate in this ship. Very difficult to play for the average player, see Notser's commentary. As usual, flambass is the most OP part of this setup.

Just for reference. Austin has 6x2 127mm guns. With boost they fire every 1,7s for 15s. That's 15/1,7= 8,8 rounds per gun 12*8= 96 rounds in 15s *He* max damage is 1800 1800*96= 170,000 (11K per second) Sap damage =2,700 2700*96= 259,000 (17K per second) That can murder two full health DD's without anything they can do

With Halsey's talent activated, reload booster on, and a decent chunk of Adrenaline Rush, Austin can reach 1-1.2 second reload speed on the main battery.

#Flambass WG doesn't want a balanced game at all, they want a game that makes money... And who can blame them. It is up to the players to speak via their wallets. All CCs should ask the players to do so.

I get that, that reload boost is crazy dpm but every ship you were firing at with it active was getting shot at by other ships, causing more damage then what appeared you were doing. It's still crazy strong when active though.

I honestly think it ain't OP. The survivability with 30k is low. It is a glass cannon. It just happens to have the best iteration of the most broken consumable in the game, RB. Great ship, plan on getting it.

I don't really see how this ship is OP. There is burst damage in the game, in torps and BBs. Every time Flambass gets shot at he cries for help. When he has '90k and game barely started' it's actually 1/3 of a game and he lost half of HP. Only few % of players can play this ship. Also people will learn, and act differently. And for competitive it might actually be welcome change.

Have they improved the loading times on World of Warships? Back when I was still playing, I'd regularly start games late because I had it installed on a traditional HD. Only moving it to an SSD let me start when the battle started. The Gearing may simply not have the SSD space.

First there was the original tier 6 Cleveland, then the Atlanta. Then WG decided to try other lines for HE spammers. Realizing that the Smolensk had to be nerfed. Now the Austin to out DPM them all.

„T10“ Austin is a T7 hull with T7 HP but less concealment, DPM and turrets, worse arks and rudder shift and no radar. Unlike its T7 counterpart, it will end up on maps without usable cover most of the time. 9 times out of 10, doing what you did this match, you get insta blapped or chunked for 80% of your HP. The MBR, fletcher torps and AA are its only redeeming gimmicks, which in the right cherry picked circumstances are ridiculously OP, but in 99% of matches dont mean shit.

@@Hexaion Sorry, my original must not been clear. I was referring to the ship (should’ve used her/she instead I guess). Because last time I was at CB, SAP was quite effective. I understand that he (Flambass) wants to get enough steel from CB in his account.
