I am so looking forward to this adventure. This is something I have always wanted to do but life keeps getting in the way, so I will live vicariously through you for a little while. Cheers.
Hey all just letting you know I am editing the other videos now, sorry it took me so long, and thank you so much for your patience. We are actually working on the next trip... Great Keppel to Whitsundays... so filming and editing at the same time.
This is amazing! I have always loved sailing. Please upload the rest of the story, I'm really looking forward to seeing it! are you still alive my brother
Keen for part 2! I have a Hobie Tandem Island, hats off to you for doing this adventure, I've been dreaming of an expedition on my TI for a while....it's coming!
Awesome mate. I’m looking to get a Hobie Getaway cause that’s a lot less than an Outremer, and was wondering if I could get it through the Great Sandy Straight. Great to see it’s been done (and more!) Like everyone else says - let’s see the rest! :D
Just watched this. Been sailing my Hobie Getaway in California and about to do some camping sail trips. Would be interested to hear about your gear and how you tied it all down.
What happened to "part 2" and beyond??? I can only assume that the creator and his sidekick, The Coastal Cowboy, died on their epic adventure, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to this series of videos.
did the 1992 Formosa Hobie Challenge around 4 sites in Taiwan, with one long coastal trip (one other one was cancelled by weather), we just slept on the boat tramps between the two day events. The Philippines has a Hobie series still running (at times) between many of their islands. Amazing boats, series I did was with Hobie 16's, very capable simple boats. *enjoy, and *stay "safe" while being dangerous in small effective doses.
love it when the algorithim works in my favour, hankering for a low budget mini adventure and concluded hobie cat, Germany to North Denmark, or maybe just Germany to Denmark. Got a cheap Hobie pacific in my lens but it was way to heavy to launch alone, now looking at a Hobie 16
Just a Fantastic video and wanted to subscribe within the first minute , keep them coming and look forward to more.🤘⛵️ I have my own channel with a hobie adventure island and based up around the Whitsundays if you ever up this way. I truely appreciate the effort you’ve gone into making this one ☝️ 10 out of 10 👊
How fast does that little motor push the getaway? My motor mount is being delivered tomorrow, then I need to buy a squirrelly screw as they say down unda
@@colesheive7649 thanks! I have a Catalina 16.5. We did a overnight last month and it was great. I filmed some of it, but have not done any editing yet. My channel is AdventureKaro. What do you think of those Catalina’s??
@@chadhaugen-leathertech4848 That'd be a great boat for a trip like that! I have an old Coronado 15 that would be rather sketchy for a trip, but it's a whole lot of fun as a high-energy day sailer! I assume you have the retractable keel version?
@@colesheive7649 that’s so cool! I had a Coronado 15 before this boat. It was great. Crazy they are still sailing all over the world! Both of these boats have a retractable lead centerboard. The 16.5 has a much better hull shape and handles chop a lot smoother. We are taking it to the San Juan islands in a couple weeks. See how it goes!
Awesome Vid Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi. Really great story. We're sailing our Getaway in the Gulf Mexico, close to SpaceX, where we cruise down the coast to the Rockets, check it out "First girls on planet earth to sail to SpaceX" "Floating deck chair" good one.
Top job mate! I’m loving the updates! Ps. I’m a hobie getaway sailer based in Brisbane, feel free to drop me a line if you’re ever keen for a casual sail around the bay or along the coast!
