Finally an aboriginal anthem included with the national anthem, it was important that this people be recognized in their specificity, because the aborigines are above all the first inhabitants of Australia. Aborigines are to Australia what Maori are to New Zealand
About 5 or 6 years ago the girls and boys of Oak Flats high school performed this at WIN stadium for a Dragons game during the NRL indigenous round. You could have heard a pin drop. Hope the NRL does it for tonight’s Grand Final.
@@TheJuicyjunk Oh you must be a boong, always looking for handouts. If not an Ab, well maybe you can placate your feelings of guilt by paying for yourself. But you won't, will you ? Words are cheap, actions are not.
@@JeffLooksLikeMe OMG. And now you live in a rich, stable country. If you feel so guilty, give your house to the Ab's. Oh, OK it's rented well donate your dole to them.
Despite not having a single indigenous player in the squad at this time, and unlike league a near absence of indigenous fans they still managed to grandstand with implementing this Jersey and song. Btw, they've pretty much lost every game they've ever played in the indigenous jersey 🤷 At least the song is nice though.
But no one understands it. Maybe you should encourage your kids to learn it as a second language. Forget Spanish, French, Mandarin. Ab is MUCH more useful.
Beautiful Aboriginal Language is so beautiful and I’m so moved it transitioned into English to show our connection and advancement of our great country.
not only is it much more culturally impactful and appropriate to sing it in the Eora language, it makes our otherwise boring anthem sound 10x better too. the fact they have not done this again at any major event since is quite laughable
@@jcoker423 cynic.😂 Canada is multi linguistic and that doesn't stop them from doing it. I don't have the stats on how many actually speak French, but English is still the majority language used.
@@hi.moriarty Well it's about 20% who speak French in Canada. So now I've done that research for you, can you tell me how many speak an Ab language, and maybe you can break it down by the 100's of languages (often mutually unintelligible) and how many speakers of each ?
Aboriginal people don't have an alphabet..and there is a group of professionals and archaeological proffessors that just found a skull from pygmy Australis the original Inhabitants, if they prove it then Australian history will change again...
Eora. If you bothered to actually listen to the first 3 seconds of the video you would have heard them say that. It's the language of a Tribe from the Sydney basin..you know, where the game was being played that day.
You seem to be implying that First Nations Peoples are not Australian, which is based on ignorant disrespect, and you are implying with cynicism an excuse to disregard something in general
Bit dramatic, no? The sound isn't that bad. Australiagal ya’nga yabun Eora budgeri Yarragal Bamal Yarrabuni Ngurra garrigarrang Nura mari guwing bayabuba Diara-murrahmah-coing Guwugu yago ngabay burrabagur Yirribana Australiagal Garraburra ngayiri yabun Yirribana Australiagal Australians all let us rejoice, For we are one and free, We've golden soil and wealth for toil; Our home is girt by sea; Our land abounds in nature's gifts Of beauty rich and rare, In history's page, let every stage Advance Australia Fair. In joyful strains then let us sing, Advance Australia Fair.
