i was over there in 2021 there was a trans club when the guy on the door asked me to come in i assumed it was les girls obviously i was mistaken perhaps it was the same place under a different name.
Hi there Caz from Stockport Cheshire UK hot wine from Australia is called Blobs! Here and we were actually talking about how much we used love them in the Yates! Wine Lodge.. 💜😈💜
Eccentrics are amazing! I love anyone with the courage to be unashamedly his or her own personality, and strive to do so in my way. Thanks for helping me learn more about other eccentrics on this earth.
Oh, I'm just loving this! Thank you so much Sir Oddie! I'm a day late, and a dollar short, but sure happy to be back again!:)) Man, oh man! That woman does look like a witch! Oh her teeth scare me! Wonder how she chomps! Love you and Odette very much! Thank you! I've got my 2 cats in for the night, I need to stop the Opossum who also venture's in! He's quiet a lovely chap, but I don't want him in my house any more! So I shut the door! Angels on your pillow! Until the morrow, dream good dreams. Thank you:)) I adore your channel. There is no one like you!:))
Very glad you enjoyed the presentation! Yes certainly, her teeth would’ve been an interesting project for a kind dentist. Yes, I have seen a lot of videos with opossums desperate to become a part of the household. Thank you for the lovely compliment. 😊
I love your eccentric videos. I first came across your channel and was very attracted to some of the profiles of artists, writers, and other weirdos, some who came to sad ends and some like Rosaleen who seemed to end quite happily with her cats. For my taste, I prefer them to the gruesome murder stories, but I know those have their audiences. In any case, all your work is amazing and I get excited every time I see a new Oddie video in my feed,
Not afraid to turn her back on traditionalism and embrace a different, bohemian lifestyle, Rosaleen was indeed her own person. She sounds like she was quite a charming and eclectic character, and I would liked to have shared a conversation with her.
What a unique story Oddie. What a brave woman, even these days it would hard to find such a fearless woman. Love your history knowledge and sharing with us. Happy New Year🎉
YESSS, ODDIE, This was an interesting piece. I had never heard of this Artist. I am very happy that You showed Us this One. I loved reading and following along with Your video. This one was very interesting and kind of cool also. Thank You for sharing Your talents with Us again. BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, ODDIE. 😊❤️👍🏼👋🏼
She sounds fascinating!! I looked into getting a copy of her book of art(and poems by Gavin Greenlees) but it is quite expensive!! I am excited to go down a rabbit hole of my own ...but not until after i finish this video and properly thank Oddie for his hard work and yet another job well done!
I’m happy it was to your liking my friend and that it has inspired you to do further research. I do hope you enjoy delving further into Rosaleen’s life. Thank you so much for your positive feedback!
A pet spider 🕷 I've always been fascinated by this wonderful lady. Thank you for creating an excellent documentary on her life. 🙏 She was definitely one of a kind! Australia should be bragging.
I've known about this woman for a bit. I think she was probably kind of a neat girl. You get into areas that most other RU-vid presenters don't. I appreciate that.
HEADS UP!! The documentary movie that you mentioned, The Witch of Kings Cross, at the end of your video is now playing on Amazon Prime. Im watching it right now, thanks to you mentioning it existed. THANK YOU !❤
Awesomely interesting! I come from a long line of pagans. Art makes you think , without art what a boring world indeed. Thank you for this program. I am always learning from you!
I always really enjoy your blah blahs taking us down memory lane and to foreign lands (for me as an American anyway), Oddie. You've lived such an interesting life. Anyway, sending you wishes for a very happy and healthy new year!
I’m happy to hear that, thank you so much for your great feedback, my friend. Also, wishing you a great start to the New Year, health and much success!
Thanks so much Oddie - what a fascinating woman, who certainly lived life on her own terms! So glad you remembered the clip from the Meals on Wheels lady, she was definitely worth hearing. I was very take n with Rosaleen's description od childhood because I felt much the same. The biggest difference was that I certainly didn't have a "sullen face while resting" - on the contrary, I was always being accused of smiling at inapppropriate times, even though it was unintentional! Happy New Year to you and Odette.
Yes, I love the fact that Rosaleen was surrounded by her beloved cats at the end. I’m happy to hear also that you are a smiler and not a frowner 😄 Wishing you the same my friend!
I’m so happy about this piece, the total misunderstanding of peaceful pagans, I’m proud to say I am one, while everyone has their ways of worship and expression, I’m a rock and gem hound who craves knowledge of different beliefs and culture, I’m friends with every branch of Catholicism as well as every branch of paganism, I want to read more about Rowie, I’m excited. What’s truly coincidental is my maiden name is Hoffman, wow, just wow, I’m rambling, hope you have had a Merry Christmas and cheers to a happy new year!!!!
Thanks for this, ObsoleteOddity - its very interesting - I find Rosaleen, her art and life fascinating. After watching The Witch of Kings Cross film earlier this year, I was motivated to search out a reasonably priced paperback copy of The art of Rosaleen Norton (with poems by Gavin Greenlees) The Teitan press 2022. I was so pleased to add her to my bookshelf!
I’m happy it was to your liking my friend and that it has inspired you to do further research. I do hope you enjoy delving further into Rosaleen’s life.
Great video. Keep them coming! Having been in dentistry, I nearly screamed when the video of her talking started. OMG her teeth!! hahaha Oh well, to each their own. Happy holidays!
HI Oddy, Fascinating Eccentric lady was Rosaleen Norton. Thanks for sharing about a lady I have never heard about before. Happy New Year to your family Oddy and to the rest of your fans as well.❤❤
Rosalind sounds like a really interesting person, I have never heard of her, but would have like to have met her, thank you for doing this Oddity, love Kim, Happy New Year to you xx
Happy new year, i wish you the best ❤️ for some reason i found this story to be funny to believe, i think this lady set her stuff up to play on people and have a good laugh at them.
What an interesting video, never heard of this lady before. Good video to end the year on I think. Happy New Year to you Oddie. Looking forward to your posts in 2024🎉 On a side note: I cracked up when you said, "YESSSSS?"
Omg friend long long time.how are you ? My life has been crazy etc etc...I hardly upload videos anymore..so good to see your video in my notification out of the blue..great video as usual
@ObsoleteOddity you will do and you are doing amazing..wow, I have a lot of catching up to do. Amazing stories ..how do you manage them I have no idea. But you have a huge audience. That I know..all the best to you and take care, my friend..🧡🧡🧡
HI Oddie..much love to You !! Found the Movie here on RU-vid..thank you for being YOU !!❤ GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY..& ALL STAY WELL😊Saratoga New York...Laura😊
Wow great video! Thank you for covering this topic. I did not know that we in Australia ever took "satan worship" etc so seriously / badly. I'm very happy to be acquainted with Rosaleen Norton as part of Australian history. I find eccentrics so inspiring.
I’m very glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much for your positive feedback. Yes back at those times. Witchcraft was certainly not common in Australia - now with the Internet it’s obviously widespread.
Another great story about someone who made their mark on history. Wish there had been captions on the interview. Some of what she said was a bit hard to understand. (The part where she told why she thought she had always been a witch) Everything was great!❤
Sounds like James Dibble narrating the interview. I lived in Potts Point during the 1980s. The traffic in Macleay street on a Friday and Saturday nights were ridiculous.
Oh oddie, thank you for sharing this story, this lady is a girl after my own heart, she even shares my mum's name! I so enjoy your channel, maybe one day will get to see your in person! I'm Sydney born and bred, grew up between parramatta and penrith. Love your work!❤
It can be disquieting to some - those who go through life thinking that demons and devilish creatures look like the furry/scaly depictions from the Middle Ages - to look upon Rosaleen’s work and realize that she painted from REAL LIFE. Suddenly, those insectoid invertebrates take on a ghastly new reality. Hers is the closest approximation to Lovecrat’s story “Pickman’s Model.” She was many things, but easily frightened does not come to mind!
Oddie, what a great story of a very fascinating woman. Thank you. When the part where her art was removed from a museum, it reminded me of an incident that happened to me and my friends. We had gone to a Cinncinatti art museum that was showing works by Robert Maplethorpe. The police raided while we were there, placed some of the museum directors under arrest, made everyone leave, and shut down the exhibition. I'm not gay, but I believe that everyone has the right to view what they want to without censorship, which is still happening here in the states, fueled by conservative rights who feel we should all live and believe like them (and many are hypocrites). Keep 'em coming Oddie. Stay safe and hello to Mrs. Oddie.
