Nice work Will, I love how you’ve made this update punchy, professional and engaging. Keep it up! One thing for On Track Models, in the August AMRM they announced that they’re working on the NSWGR 72’6 MCE and MFE passenger cars, possibly in both crown light or double letterboard variants depending on tooling costs. Delivery due late 2022. It was a small item, so easily missed. Looking forward to the next update in September 👍🏻 Cheers, Ben

Another great video update, well done. Just to add to your exhibition diary; AMRA WA has a second open day in December on the 5th (COVID-19 permitting) which will be in a similar fashion to the recent one held on the 15th of August. To answer your question about DC or DCC; I originally started interest in DC but when I discovered Sound, I was hooked. To get full functionality of sound, I had to go DCC and now I never look back. I’m looking forward to the re-run of the GT46-ACes as well as a few others like the G/BLs. Great content as always and look forward to the September video.

Nice video Will thanks for taking the time to talk about the Auscision C and G/BL and what has happend to them a G and C class are quite high on my list i guess i have to wait now. I hope to visit the AMRA open day as well if i do see you i will be sure to come over and say G'day I may even join! as i have been looking at joining that club for a while now. Great video Will! I recently contacted Auscision regarding the DEB sets and they said the current eta for release is around mid-2022. I've got my eye on a Candy Liveried one. Definitely have to save up though ;-)

Thanks for the news. Look forward to it. Sticking with DC for reasons of cost, incompatible equipment, shortages, models shipped with near throw away DCC standard basic chips and sound systems, PWM of DCC chips not very kind to all motors, difficulty and cost of converting some older models and quite a few other reasons. I am expecting that dead rail RC type systems will eventually make DCC obselete like early versions of DCC type systems became obsolete. Was the first Astrack the Hornby Zero One, Salota and numerous other expensive versions now dead. Glad I was not and early adopter. Even in the DCC era I have seen a few chips turn to smoke and start melting loco bodies.

Great Video Will! - Just a question with the Udamonic Controllers, can it work with two trains on the same track or does the track need to be isolated from the other track? Great job. Excited for upcoming videos!

Thanks Luke. If you want to control two locos on the same track independently of each other you'll need to get a DCC system and have the locomotives fitted with DCC chips. The Udamonic controllers are just premium DC controllers. Hope that helps.

Nice one Will! Cheers for mentioning my review of the Taits. I'll be interested to see them running with sound. I saw the demo video they posted and it seems promising, but the traction motor sounds were a bit odd at low speed and while decelerating. Hopefully they fix that before release. I assume the different sound chip for the parcels vans will just be the same but without the guard's bell, I can't think of any other sound that would be different? Re the DC vs DCC question - I always thought I would eventually go DCC, but I've realised I'm actually very happy using DC, and I don't think I could justify the cost. My layout is broken up into a lot of blocks so it's easy to isolate stuff when I need to, and that makes a huge difference. I also kind of enjoy doing all the wiring and dealing with basic analog electronics. Also hanging out for my Ixion J class yo arrive very shortly, all these years and I've never owned a VR steam loco!

@@WillJamesRailways Yeah I'm sure a conversion wouldn't be that hard if I decided to go that direction. Oh yeah also I didn't know about the IDR DERM until I watched this video, very exciting! Although I probably won't get one at this stage as I'm pretty happy with my SEM one that I built ~15 odd years ago. I might get an MT trailer to go with it though! I am very impressed with their W class, great model.

Definitely DCC... much more involving. Also I'd be interested for you to a weathering series. Always interested to see how other Aussies do it with what we have available downunder.

@@WillJamesRailways I recently got an airbrush and compressor with tank. Tanks down best investment. I do a lot of weathering with oils and powders. If the air brush was just used for trucks and wheels then it's still money well spent. I will invest in a decent brush one day. But for now the $30 eBay special will do..

@@WillJamesRailways the compressor is a Vevor one. With 3ltr tank. Nice n quiet. And the gun is a cheap ebay 25$ one. I'll get an Iwata one when I feel I need one.

@@WillJamesRailways I use the MRC wireless Prodigy system, probably the only one in Australia using it lol. It is easy to use and program, has a great wifi plug and play module for any one with a phone can hook in, has great 8amp booster that can be daisy chained etc. But it is a little wider in the hand and this is where the NCE system would feel better..cheers
