Great update Will. So many of these companies are pretty poor with their communication and have pretty shoddy websites - especially when it comes to being mobile friendly (ie. contemporary). So, I find your updates save me a lot of time and frustration. This hobby needs an injection of younger people to keep it relevant so please keep it up. 3D printers are great and will form a niche for many detail parts. But at the moment there is a huge variation in the quality - even in the quality of items offered by small home-based businesses. It's the rising costs of this hobby that concern me greatly. With prices being so high the established manufacturers of rolling stock and locos really should lift their game in service and communication. There is only one company in my opinion that communicates well and presents well and is prompt......it also happens to be the biggest one and starts with 'A'. I value all of the small ones but I wish they would pay attention to the aspects of business that broadens the appeal - marketing, service, ease of use, communication, timeliness, mobile friendly etc. Otherwise they are just limiting themselves to their existing area of influence.

Nice update mate. In terms of 3D printers, theyll have their place, but RTR models will most likely still be the forefront of modeling, provided the prices dont keept going up exponentially

Great review video. I was against getting a 3D printer until I saw 3D printer wheelie bins on a layout. Then I was sold on the printer. Since then I've printed shipping containers, houses, industry, fences an fence posts, park benches, dwarf signals, water tanks and tank stands. I think the manufactures have the expertise and resources for superior products however a 3D printer pays for itself quickly and can certainly add unique items to your layout.

Brilliant news Will. I'm excited for the realeases by Lyndons Trains, Auscision and Powerline there is some good stuff coming out! As for your question it will be a few years before I get a 3D printer. Hopefuly I can attend a few exhibitions in Victoria next year. - Nicholas.

Great news episode as always Will. I ordered a Phoenix D3 DC (only) by mistake. As you said it's already been shipped. Really nice model...Do you know where I can buy a DCC sound chip to slot into this loco? I believe the speakers are already installed? Thanks!

Great video again Will. 3D printers involve computers , I don't feel confident in CAD design ,so I think 3D printers are not for me. Keep up the good work . ( I would like to provide some run by's for your show ,but Google Drive Spaghetti to me ) Cheers.

Thanks John! They do, i mean least at the moment! I mean it looks like you don't need an understanding of CAD or any design programs, as you can down load pre made designs and scale them appropriately. Send me an email and we'll work it out if you'd like?

Im really excited for the On track luver vans. I Had no Idea pacific national had some too? Arent they a bit modern for that? And the Kandu Workshop part was Hilarious lol, Whats the point of selling broken versions for 5 Dollars? Anyways great job on this video! Your improving alot.

Yeah i think they had them when they took over from FA/FV but they didn't get much use. I reckon I might have some photos from the early 2000's of them. Ah i think some people like a modelling challenge. Thanks for watching!

The Haskell NBHs will be nice, they're the obvious followup to the NA class. I'd be lost without my Elegoo Saturn 3D resin printer, it's the reason I'm able to model Tasmanian in HOn3.5

3D printing has saved me hundreds of dollars and the model can be replaced within a matter of hours at a very small cost. Also it has allowed me to have a fleet of engines as per proto type running all sorts of stock. All this at a fraction of the cost of retail. Three D printing allows many odd models to be made plus produce fleets of rolling stock with no delays or price increasers that we suffer from Chinese productions. Its the way to go.

I want to know where is Qld model only few made Diesel Locomotive there but no steam locomotive with A10, PB15, C15-16-17-19, DD16-17, BB18 1/4, B18 1/4, Beyer Garratt 4-8-2 +2-8-4 & Rail motor & Electric not there & cuz there have lots NSW & Vic & S.A. model Diesel, Steam, Electric, Passage, freight & Rolling Stock are there & that not fair not many made Qld, Tas, W.A & N.T. steam locomotives, Diesel, Passage, Freight & Rolling Stock are not there & peoples are need Qld model train asap or whenever are need.. no matter which gauge are go TT gauge 12mm or HO Gauge 16.5mm ok

I think 3D printing is fabulous, and have bought examples of it - so I see it having a place. How big a place in the hobby, though... I came across a comparison with another technology revolution, where you buy a machine for home use, teach yourself to use it, buy the raw materials, and can buy plans to use. What was that? Sewing! How many people use sewing machines? Well, they are fabulous if you have a special need (special size, cosplay, non mainstream fashion/vintage fashion) - or you like the challenge or want to save money. But for many people they are irrelevant. Suspect we will continue to see mainstream RTR, complemented by special interest, odd scales, or very limited numbers of the prototype being 3D printed, making for a much more interesting model scene.
