Australian Rugby Union is Declining 

The Wallabies lack of success against the All Blacks and nearly 20 years without winning the Bledisloe Cup or Rugby World Cup hasn't helped.

Make the sport more attractive to watch...reduce the value of drop goals and penalty kicks.Make TRIES the focus not never ending kicks at goal. Make scrum penalties differential so the sport avoids endless kicking.Ban kicking out on the full.Union can be so boring to watch.

I think the exclusive Foxtel rights of a few years back had a lot to do with the decline. Most people don't have Foxtel. If they can't watch the game on tv they won't talk about the game to friends. If they don't talk about it they won't go and watch it live. They won't enrol their kids in local clubs, and the whole thing becomes self defeating for the short term sugar hit of the Foxtel contract.

How has it come to this? The future of Australian rugby hinged on a 2023 World Cup pool game between Fiji and Portugal? How has Australian rugby reached this unbelievable low after 163 years of history? How is it possible that not one current Wallaby would make a World 15 team or even a second World 15 team or third World 15 team? The truth is the current Australian Wallabies, by their results, are now a genuine Tier 2 international team. How the mighty have fallen! So tragic for all those Wallabies who have proudly worn the green and gold jersey…. So sad for all the Wallaby supporters who have devoted their lives to supporting the Wallabies. Only time will reveal how this unbelievable situation is resolved.

I'm enjoying the downfall of Rugby Australia tbh. The way it has typically underhanded other codes, the way it acts like it's too good for low socioeconomic people and areas. Peter Fitzsimmons acting like a knob on TV against League is also grating.

i used to want to watch the like of beale, cooper and folau and just be dissapointed every game coz rugby is just bullshit boring sport and a kick fest and u barely get to see attacking footy and never know what penalties are blown for

against rugby league its really no comparison, union is shithouse. a poor game of nrl is better than a good game of union in this day and age. union could change that with a few key rule changes, and how its officiated. its a very similar sport theres no reason it should be this boring

Aussies only watch and support games they are good at. As they are losing ground to other nations, which will happen in NRL eventually too, they quickly lose interest.
