In this video, we take a look at one of the more interesting and
overlooked long arms of WWI. Featured are both the Steyr M95 infantry rifle and M95 Cavarly Carbine. In addition to their history, these rifles are also fun to take to the range.

Stutzen doesn't mean support in German. It means cut-down (version) to sth. stutzen means to cut it like a bush in your garden for example. It was especially important to be for mountain-troops like our Tiroler Kaiserjäger, because they had to climb with their rifles. Support means Unterstützung by the way. Greetings from Austria.

I'm not sure what my carbine really is...it's a hodge podge of parts. It has the ring mounted front sight like you talked about on the long rifle cut downs. It has a carbine length rear sight. The front sling mount is the solid bar type. It has one on the grip and there is a plugged sling mounting spot under the buttstock. It also has the bayonet lug/stacking rod front band combo.

haha yeah, probably just an honest rebuild. There are so many little variations and odd combos of parts that ended up together during one refurb or another. I've heard of the plugged sling hole, so that isn't anything bad or incorrect. Just enjoy it for what it is. If nothing else, you know it has seen a lot of history. Also, thanks so much for watching the channel. We have lots of videos in the pipeline, so please check back from time to time.

I have a question, can the Trigger Guard Assembly and Bolt assembly of different variants be interchangeable? Thank you

If only there was one in 8mm Mauser, I probably would've bought it.
