Another thing I would like to clarify is: If a PCM is going to be reflashed wouldn't reflashing it from the old computer reinstall the problem from the old computer into the new one? It seems to me that a new computer should be reflashed from the vehicle maker.
Curtis , i really like to watch your videos always you are amazing 🙂 , but i have question about BMW Encoding used Module , always when its going to step coding its failed i don't know why? Can you Make a vedio how to do Encoding For a Used Module . Regards
Hi Curtis I bought a PCM from Flagship and it must have been plug and play because the engine started and ran contrary to what you said about the PCMs having to be reflashed even if they claim to be plug and play.
HI Carl, I use the process of elimination. If you purchase a pre programmed module , and it starts the engine , Then there is no need to update the software . But if you plug in the PCM and it doesnt start, then it might need to be flash programmed ( depending if the ECU has an error code that indicates there is no programming) , or if its not running correctly.
Curtis man I really need some training from you for flash programming and coding I just purchased drewtech j2534 units and my question is it possible since the units are not Autel products thank you in advance
Yes . Drewtech is better than the Autels j2534. Usually when my clients start running into issues with the Autel j2534, Ill just recommend them to get a drew tech. My only gripe is their service.. Its very difficult to get a human being on the phone. Anyhow let me know when your ready for the training. Thanks
I don't like this new virtual theme he has been using for these most recent videos. It is too shaky, and isn't focused on what he wants us to see or read.
Hi Em , Thanks for the feed back. Dont worry I still have the usual format coming. Doing it this way saves on production cost. ( I normal video presentation cost me 500 USD to make) Ill do some more testing and see if I can improve on the points you mentioned. Thanks
