Autism Sings Ep.749: I’m Tired 

Let’s face it: I’m tired!! This year marks the 50th anniversary of Blazing Saddles , Mel Brooks’ parody of Western movies and an attack on racism/racist stereotypes. The combination of a hilarious script, satire, and an amazing cast (including Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder , Madeleine Kahn, and Harvey Korman) makes this a classic comedy that still speaks to me today. Loved it when I saw it at 11 years old (although the jokes flew over my head and I was more into the physical comedy) and it made me laugh really hard. To celebrate the movie, I am going to sing “I’m Tired” which is sung by the saloon singer Lili Von Shtupp played by the fabulous Madeleine Kahn. Kahn, who was a trained opera singer, parodied Marlene Dietrich using her lower register. This one is for you ‪@MelBrooksOfficial‬ ! I do not own the rights to the song.
