What’s the treatment for autoimmune gastritis? What can people do? The doctors talk about follow up but offer no treatment or protocol on how to avoid having something going bad in the next follow up Is there any hope for people with this condition?
Just saw the NP at my gastro doctor..i had 3 gastritis flare ups in the 4 years..first time they trested for Hpylori...second time, they did a other endoscopy..said there was not Hpylori..i did show gastritis..treated with PPIs...was cleared for a few years..today i went in cause i am in gastrtis again...tried inquiring why this goes on if I Dont have Hpylori..she did not reply...i told her i have hashimotos and asked if my gut issue apart of that ..could it be autoimmune..she says she has never heard of it.. prescribed a PPI and stuff for nausea...
I went down this rabbit hole because my doctor saw the test results and never mentioned it to me and doesn’t want to do b12 injections I was also diagnosed recently with intracranial hypertension …. For which I’m finding many other sufferers have pernicious anemia
Second that. I was treated for pylori, after that my stomacj has never been the same. Pain in the morning, pain when eating and pulsating on the left side. Now my tsh came high. I dont know how to cure if without antibiotics I suspect gastritis. Fullness and indigestion all the time, its been 2 years since my pylori treatment
B12 therapy as in B12 injections 💉 which B12 do you recommend, methyl? My son's test came back that he had no IF, could that something to do with Hpylori? He is very sensitive ro histamines.

I have the same diagnosis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and autoimmune gastritis + Helicobacter pylori. I have been on treatment with B12, iron, folic acid, and vitamin D for almost 10 years. At this moment I am taking antibiotics to eradicate the bacteria, since it has caused atrophy and metaplasia in the gastric body. My doctor explained to me that it is very common to have more than one autoimmune disease, and that it is very likely that in my case, these two diseases were caused by the bacteria Helicobacter Pylory.
@@A.R.B.5079 I do not have Helicobacter pylori. But I also have metaplasia in the gastric body. I have been using iron, b-12, and vitamin D too, in addition to many other supplements
Autoimmune diseases have no cure, but they can be managed. In the case of autoimmune gastritis, vitamin B12 would help normalize your levels of this vitamin. It is important that you keep in mind that the deficiency of this vitamin can cause many other medical complications. Once you have been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis and megaloblastic anemia (vitamin B12 deficiency), it is important to continue monitoring, do blood tests every 6- 9 months, to make sure that your vitamin B12 levels are good, along with this test, the levels of vitamin D, iron and folic acid are also usually checked. It is possible that your doctor will also order an endoscopy to rule out the Helicobacter Pylory bacteria, which often causes this autoimmune disease, and others, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and also to see if there is any gastric lesion such as metaplasia, especially in the gastric body I am not a doctor but I was diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis 15 years ago. That's what the specialists have explained to me all this time. I recommend that you see your doctor, he will be able to answer all your questions and order the relevant exams or tests for your case.
