Over recent years, research has uncovered a specific kind of autoimmunity in ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Long Covid. Unlike in typical autoimmunity, this kind of autoimmunity is neither attacking nor destroying parts of the body. Rather it is creating a 'disruptive signal' that is blocking key bodily processes. In this video, we talk about four key autoimmune components in ME/CFS and the symptoms that they create including PEM (post-exertional malaise), low hormone levels and dryness. Future videos will discuss treatment options like immunoadsorption and Berlin cures. This video is also relevant for dysautonomia and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).
