Have just bought and installed a similar, but better constructed one. The instruction book was in English. Works fine. Mains off and generator on and auto switch. Mains returns and generator running, returns to mains. Flip to manual and flip the motor driven switch to by-pass low voltage mains. The bridge is on the output side. No bridge on the input. Left side and right side out are common to the load.

That switch is a three phase model , I have one and it is a clever bit of gear and the switch timing has a dead bit to stop the two supplies being in contact. I am happy with it. The only time the switches can be live on both is when they are pushed manually which cannot happen.
@gabrieldmf95

Those are not fuses. Those are circuit breakers. Also, the voltage between two phases could be 220v (that is the case on most of the residential appliances in America).
@NinoJoel

It's not for the American market tho and pretty much the entire rest of the world has 400v between the two phases

Bull. There is absolutely no problem with using MCBs as a switch. The only problem with these things is the MCBs themselves, they are unmarked and thus should be replaced with ones that are.

@@DIYTechRepairs You need the 4 pole units and not a 3 pole one. They have a wire to lug 1 and a wire to the N lug on the input sides for motor control. Then you just wire the output sides as common wiring with each phase and Neutral ( 2, 4, 6, N to 2, 4, 6, N ). Max is 120V to ground which allows 208/120 or 240/120 Volt operation. Although the English manual says that it is a 500 Volt insulation rating.

He calls the two circuit breakers "fuses" (fuses cannot be reset) the motor cannot get both circuits connected to the load even though his fingers can. (What kind of test is it where you tear something half apart and force it to do things that it cannot normally do?) He never heard of "switch rated breakers"? The relay is only connected to ONE supply circuit, not between. The breaker's insulation is rated at 400 Volts for 220 Volt operation. When tested in actual operation, how did it perform? That is the question! Ron W4BIN

Please take a look again and you Will see that the mechanics are flawed. I cant test it since it wont work here due to lack of neutral. As i said i would have tested it but couldnt due to how its made.

There seems to be a lot of copies of this similar model. I've only seen the inside of one and it was a good design isolating inputs and outputs and efficiently used one relay. The mechanical linkages to the circuit breakers made it such that both could not be turned on at the same time. Unfortunage you got a bad one, but I wouldn't rule them all out, but seems like one has to get more info before just buying any one.

You must have gotten a cheap knockoff version. I have the 4pole 120 Volt unit and it is not built like that. It has plainly marked Neutral legs with wires to the motor control and 3 other lugs on the breakers. A second wire on each side is connected to the input lug marked 1. Mine switches from solar powered inverter to grid power without any problems. I wired it such that if the inverter is on, that is what it uses and disconnects from the grid. When the inverter is off, it switches to grid power. As it is a 4 pole unit, it can handle 3 phase power and/or split phase wiring in the US. Just as long as the Neutral and 1 measure 120 Volts across them. And breakers are often rated as switches too. Nothing wrong there as long as the manufacturer has designed them properly. It now is in its second year of use and has not caused any problems. I have a spare one that I was going to use when the first failed, but so far it hasn't.
