Automating clinical data analysis with on-the-fly data abstraction 

In this video, I explore automated capabilities for analyzing clinical data. We begin by running ChatGPT's Advanced Data Analysis tool against a FHIR Bundle, looking at how standardized data can be used to power automated clinical question answering.
Then we zoom out to try a different approach, similar to what human data abstractors do during chart review. We create a free-text representation of the EHR and use this as the starting point, rather than FHIR. We allow GPT-4 to define its own ad-hoc data abstractions, and we process the free text data into this format. Then we use the ChatGPT Advanced Data Analysis tool to evaluate the results from this on-the-fly abstraction.
