@@TheGibby3340 lol looked like an antique. Ok. Well either way you harken back to the beginning of electrical stuff when everyone knew a compass and there was no GPS. BTW idk if you're focusing on automotive...but what type of generator/motor would an alternator be? Like a universal motor? Switched reluctance? I know those are motors. But it's not really a generator is it? U need the battery and regulator etc to energize the coils as magnets? A "true" generator would just produce DC? This is food for thought, and my own questions. Not trying to be rude or critical. Just thinking about motor types generally now instead of the name of the thing... Like most things are universal motors. Newer E Vehicles have old old style stuff, using modern tech to drive the motors...:)
