Excellent video but the flashing Mr Fix logo every 30 seconds was not needed. You will get more viewers and support by stopping this annoying distraction. I have purchased my BT460 tester and hope it helps out with my batteries.
Mark Bennett, I agree with you. It was very annoying watching this video with him flashing that logo when it was not needed - so distracting. I stopped watching the video, but I just had to post this comment.
Great video, I am thinking about grabbing one of these. I don't really need one right now, but I wouldn't mind having one. I'd likely use it on a car I have that is 5 years old with its original battery, I am betting that battery is starting to show its age now. Being able to test alternators is a nice bonus. Sure allot places will do this kinda test for free in my area, but I like having my own tools.
...i had this very same tester and compared to other units that i have, the results were not very accurate as far as overall battery health; inconsistent results...gave it away.
I have many complaints about it. First, it takes forever to get to the test. Average tech won't have a major issue, although this wastes precious seconds in the shop. We have dozens to test at a time so you're talking an additional 15 minutes or more compared to a unit with a quick test using previous settings. Second, where's the settings? Any settings? Where's the battery chemistry options? Third, overall it feels cheap and thin; not up to the task of protecting itself against the harsh environment of a shop. This complaint was reserved for last as it may be more robust than it appears, time will tell. However, it completely lacks any rubberization. Looking for a new one.
@@mrfixpl -- Still looking for one to replace it. Not many out there with a color monitor. I think I'm hooked on that considering the day and age. It's difficult to find a comparison of testers aimed at professional techs.
I have one observation. When performing the first test, you should disconnect the positive cable from the battery, and only then connect the tester. The measurement will then be more accurate.
