The AutoSolutions SSK is my favorite mod on the E92 M3 so far (besides the M Performance exhaust). I couldn't find much information on the install online so hopefully this video helps many of you out there.
I tried my best filming all the steps but it was really hard to get all the details because of the tight space and limited lighting underneath the car.
Just a warning, if you haven't replaced a shifter before, this is not an easy install especially if you're doing it laying on your back! The video cuts out many scenes where I struggled... @#$*! It's a big PITA to install but absolutely worth it! 100%

Thanks for the video! I was able to do my AS SSK install and your video helped tremendously. I replaced the rear bushing as well with the Turner one, and found that locking in one side and using a crow bar and hammering in the other made it super easy.

This is by far one of the best AutoSolutions SSK install tutorial video on RU-vid for the E9XM. Using this video to currently install mine. This channel needs more E9XM content though!

Just received my SSK from auto solutions today. Can’t wait to have it installed. So far I’ve done the UCP and the f10 shift knob and that’s made so much of a difference as far as feel.

5 hours. Would probably take 2 hours if I did it again without recording and knowing what to do.

It’s definitely harder than the BBK installation because of the tight space and having to lay on your back.

Specs: OEM height, 20% shift reduction, 70a+ bushings. No regrets!

You're a hero, now i will do this myself when i install my aftermarket xpipe. A trusted shop quoted me 2 hour of work but later informed me that the entire transmission has to be dropped for them to install it lol, and it will cost me 5 hours of work and i declined. Been holding onto this shifter for almost a year now, still not installed, but soon. Thank you!

Mine is OEM height but you can order a shorter OR longer one.

Any added vibration/noises?

There’s more vibration when holding the shift knob and more during WOT. No additional noises.

Did you have any issue with third gear hitting the console? I installed mine yesterday and the shaft of the shift lever was contacting the plastic on the console in third gear, it doesn’t feel like it’s fully engaging.

There shouldn’t be any contact with the console. You can see the correct orientation of the lever at 7:36 in the video.

Will's Garage thanks for the reply. I definitely had the orientation right. Turns out I was testing out the shifter before I had put the transmission back up in place... stupid I know!
