Hi Adam, I use the tricker with its original 3D printed base and have had no problems. I do occasionally clean the tube with a alcohol and add a little graphite powder to the bearing area to keep things free running. All works great. Regards Bill
A clear plastic top for the scale would be nice to have, but other than that I don’t see the need for third party accessories. Great product, I love my V3. Thanks Adam.
My V3 Trickler does it. I have the updated Area 419 motor housing. I found that if I clean and use a dry lube on the shaft it fixed the problem. Need to do this whenever the problem comes back.
I have 2 suggestions that may fix the vibration problem. 1) Try making bushings from Teflon or make a bushing from nylon. I would recommend using Teflon over Nylon. Caution; NEVER use any kind of oil or solvent/s or liquid lubricant. (They are destructive to gun powders). 2) Also, try using some fine emery paper on the bearing surfaces but ONLY after you have tried installing either of the suggested bushings. Experiment as you go by trying running the trickler with the replaced bushings before trying any abrasive emery paper on the bearing surfaces. Some gun powders have a coating of graphite; this is a dry lubricant which may aid in lubing the parts you have installed. If you have tried this and been successful please let me know.
My trickler was doing this. When it vibrates, it over charges. Took trickler apart, cleaned it. Same thing. Only thing that fixed it for me was changing the belt(band). After that, good to go!
Hey guys I don’t own that type of tricker but just a thought, if it’s resonance type vibration alter the frequency like a few small snug orings on the tube Outside the powder cup . All the best guys
Update: I checked the screws and tightened them and tested and tested- so far no vibration when slowing down, it never did it at full speed- Original post: My brand new one does it, mostly when slowing down to the final 1.5 grains. Brand new V3 got it last week. Stock.
Have this happen at least once a week, tend to have it much worse when loading H50BMG and N570 over H4350 or VARGET due to the larger kernals stacking up and causing the tube to get jammed slightly. I had got in the habit of disassembling and completely cleaning the trickler every time as it seems to help some but it is not a 100% fix for the issue. I have since just unplugged and stopped using the trickler and just use the hopper and then trickle up with a Dandy. Unfortunately i threw my stock 3D printed base away.
Adam, have you spoken with John Addis from 419? The two of you have great products, and I surmise you’d be able to crush this problem in a matter of minutes together.
I have the exact same vibration problem causing major powder spillage with the original plastic bass V3 I know it's been a little while but is there many updates to the cure for this I don't want to have to spend $400 on an intuitive Precision trickler
My Autotrickler is doing this.....It's ONE DAY old (V3 plastic base) and has only thrown 30 test charges. However, mine always does it, all the time, it never stops. I also notice a metallic clanging noise (at high speed) like the drop tube is rattling off the brass bushings?. At low speed the sound is very noticeable almost like a "dry rubber creaking" sound. I've cleaned the tube and tightened the screws but I can't get it to go away. Not a happy customer right now.
