One other question: can you do pair firing without setting up matches/events and adding competitor names. We have scenarios in club matches where we might want to pair fire one or two target points to avoid running an additional relay. It seems like you could do that in match/event mode but squadding all "single" shooters to the right position on their target and relay. I'm wondering if there is an easier way.
Adam do you recommend using a laptop for all the event setup? It seems like it would be painful to do on a tablet without a mouse and keyboard. You've really thought this through!
awesome work Adam! is there a way to squad for multi day match to be done based on agg scores of current days match for the following days matches? kind of peer grouped?
Hello...I purchased a V3 about 2 years ago along with everything for reloading, and kept it all packed away for about 2 years...can you tell me, now that I'm am setting my reloading room up, if I follow the pdf instructions on the website for the V3 setup. Do I follow that entire setup even though I just have A&D scale and autotrickler, without autothrow? The pdf shows alot of settings to be set for proper communication which is very detailed with illustrations that show exactly how to with ease...can you confirm please? Thank you
My V3 Trickler does it. I have the updated Area 419 motor housing. I found that if I clean and use a dry lube on the shaft it fixed the problem. Need to do this whenever the problem comes back.
I have the exact same vibration problem causing major powder spillage with the original plastic bass V3 I know it's been a little while but is there many updates to the cure for this I don't want to have to spend $400 on an intuitive Precision trickler
"Corrected" I'm sorry, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, and I admit it, but I did not understand this video at all. *** Well, Adam is a really really smart guy.**** went back and reread the book about a dozen times and finally got it. Thank you Adam.
Thanks Adam...I learned a lot from this video... especially about how to achieve tilt with the insertion of spacers under the back of the AD balance. I was lowering the feet in the front.
I've ordered fx300i. I was looking for ideas on how to place my hand trickler next to the scale, you gave me the idea to mount it! Plus that auto trickler electrics etc is inspired. Might look into it. I was planning on using scale to verify and trickle up if required, powder throws from Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper...
Hi, thank you for feedback but as I have said many times before this solution is more appropriate than an adjustment knob which would only lead users to believe it needs to be changed all the time. Adjusting the scale level by a degree or two has no effect on its weighing.
@@wldott The new app has 5 profiles you can rename and save settings and target weights. If you need specific help with your V4 please email me. I try to only respond on RU-vid comments with general information but for specific questions please email me and I will help you.
The buffer value shifts the ramp down curve to a lower weight, so it just slows down and stops earlier. If you have big kernels it can help so the ramp down aims for 0.06 under and then when it reaches this, it will run at a constant minimum speed from there up to the target.
1. Less sensitive to thickness. More precise angle changes with larger shims. 2. It won't get in the way when emptying powder (moving around the V4). Yes you can put a shim here instead if you prefer, but I think it's easier under the scale.
So I wonder does the tilting of the s ale affect its accuracy enough to make a difference? Also couldn't you design a adjustable foot in the back like you did with the v3 trickler?
A freely adjustable screw is not desirable in this case. Once the adjustment is right, it can stay there for all powders from ball powders up to something like H4350. Tilt angle only needs to change for the special powders like N570 where inserting a specific, measured shim is faster than trying to find that perfect screw adjustment again. Unless the adjustment has like scope turrets with numbers it's going to be harder to use, and much more expensive, for an adjustment that only affects a minority. Further, if it can be adjusted, many people will adjust it constantly to fix any performance problem which is only going to make it worse. Tilt angle is not a primary adjustment for tuning, it's a set and forget. It's just important to set.
@AutoTrickler ok sounds good. Maybe have a shim that can go between the rear mount and v4 that way you don't have to tilt scale out of level? Also I been using blc2 and the big tube throws really well but the trickler takes like 8 seconds to do the last 1 grain. Is that normal?
I’ve been having issues calibrating H4350. It is reading up in the mid/high 30s. I’ve tried to adjust the feet on the scale. I’m not sure if I messed something up or not. Should I also have a base under the scale like a piece of granite or marble?
If you can weigh an object on the scale and it's not fluctuating, you don't need a base under the scale. You can see in this video how stable it is and I'm moving around and talking quite a bit. Adjust the tilt to reach 0.20 and that should be all you need. If you need more advice email me.
@@stephanc7192 In general, more precise scales are slower. More smoothing in firmware. For reloading purposes we want a fast, reliable, accurate scale that can weigh 1 kernel quickly without the number floating around. There's no point in weighing to one tenth of a kernel and giving up the fast response time which makes actually using it difficult. We need +/- 1 kernel to make powder charge error negligible for long range shooting. Any more precise is past the point of diminishing returns and has practically no effect.
Anyone loading 4 grain or in thst range and all you notice small tube trying to fill in those 4 grains and it takes for ever if u go to settings and hold close for few seconds there are hidden options you can twick to make big hopper work even with light charges
Hi Adam, I use the tricker with its original 3D printed base and have had no problems. I do occasionally clean the tube with a alcohol and add a little graphite powder to the bearing area to keep things free running. All works great. Regards Bill
I don't like, I don't like, I don't like how the cup is set to the FRONT of the scale. In every scale device it is ALWAYS set to have the cup in the CENTER. It an AWESOME device, I just don't love that it puts the cup to the front of the scale.
Thanks for the feedback. It doesn't actually cause any problem, and it's more convenient to have the cup closer to you. I understand it looks like it might be a problem, but it's fine.
Honestly, if I wanted something like this, I'd go chargemaster. I love the design of the V3 and older because separated two procedures cleanly; bulk dump and precision trickle. The only thing that could have been improved upon is the trickler system to be able to trickle without over/under dispensing or require so much powder before the tube can consistently pick up a grain.
V4 uses the same concept as V3 except in one unit, with easier powder changeovers. The Chargemaster uses a 0.10 GN load cell, this is 0.02 GN, so they are not really for the same intended purpose. However if you only shoot shorter distances and the Chargemaster is sufficient, absolutely it will save you money going that route.
@@AutoTrickler Turn the V4 from it's current configuration, with tubes facing outwards, to tubes facing downwards. Work with gravity/shorter distances to the powder charge tray. Have a nozzle that directly interfaces with the cup, maybe with an angled spout to prevent kernals from jumping around. BAM. Gemba / Process improvement.
Adjusting the scale by a small angle has no effect on weighing powder. It's not important for the scale to be perfectly level. Extremely crooked would be noticeable but we're only talking about the cosine of very small angles.
@@AutoTrickler I don't have one yet, was going to put in my order to get in line but found several threads about issues , just wanting to know that they were resolved before purchasing .
@@EChunter Mark there are no ongoing issues I need to solve. It's fine. I don't keep up with the forums anymore but any questions / concerns I get by email I answer and handle every day and if there was some kind of ongoing problem stopping people from using / purchasing the AutoTrickler I would deal with it immediately. My focus is scaling production because the one and only problem we have on a daily basis is the 6 month lead time and related questions / concerns about the backlog size. If you have a specific concern please email me and I talk to you 1 on 1.
