Man!! I play tenor sax, and I have never seen an improv like this one, on this tune or otherwise!! Such a witty and bold style to soloing. Extremely well done bro. Keep this going please
I grew up listening to Gene Ammons and Dexter from my dad Then I heard Trane and Brecker. Sometimes i can think back to my childhood and remember how I would lay in bed and drop tears when Gene and Dex played a ballad. It really is all about the sound and voice. Love your playin.....
"Autumn Leaves" is a popular song and jazz standard composed by Joseph Kosma (Hungarian-French composer) with original lyrics by Jacques Prévert in French, and later by Johnny Mercer in English.
This Guy is away up there with the likes of Dexter Gordon and Ben Webster his sound is huge, warm and perfect the vibrato is insane and sends shivers down your spine it’s inspiring to say the least, you couldn’t change anything about his tone or Style his improvisational skills are incredible and straight to the point no need for lots of notes or mumble jumble . He’s one of the greatest tenor players in the world right now!! Incredible
Lovely rich depth to the tone! The musician does it justice too, but the composition is such a deeply inspired sentiment of life and love in the years that pass!
Excellent! I had an olds when in band and my buddy had a silver selmer ( both trumpets. Then when my son went in band he chose the sax and this was the song his jazz band played for the public.
Out of all the saxophone artists I’ve listened to your sound & style on these Jazz standards inspires me the most. So delicate, sparse when needed, lots of colour in the melody & the texture in the breathe really makes it resonate for me. Yes keep on posting!
Such an amazing interpretation! The way you alternate the different sounds and intensities is unbelievable ... combined together it is a kind of orgasm for the ears!
Fantastic sound, excellent feeling, and what an improvisation !! Between Stan Getz and Zoot Sims, I enjoyed every single second of this art piece. Thanks for sharing !!
I live in a place in Normandy near the little village where the french singer, Yves Montand, had his house. This song (in french "Les feuilles mortes") was one of his favorit songs. I just have to open my windows and I am sure that he listen to you playing tenor sax. The way you play is very close to the original one. Thank you for this and continue to put on YT beautiful backing tracks..
pinkyman5155 to be fair if you listen to Stuart’s other videos in which he plays all sorts of different saxes & mouthpieces, he sounds equally as good in them all. It’s him rather than the gear.
