Hi Jens Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed this lesson. My understanding of jazz isn’t advanced therefore when I find a lesson that suits my needs I spend many many weeks analysing the detail and learning the lesson. I find I progress better if I fully understand everything before moving on. I have spent many weeks already on this lesson and will spend many weeks more. I have built backing tracks on GarageBand and then play arpeggios over the top, I love the sound. Yet so much more to learn before I move on. I find this true of all your videos, there is so much information and therefore so much enjoyment but I can’t keep up with all your videos therefore I select the ones that seem to fit where I am at the moment and study them. Thanks very much, so much of my understanding of jazz has come from your tuition.

This video pulled a lot together from some of your previous lessons and made them very clear. Really good. Thanks again for all of this fantastic instruction. One thing I had to sort of bring out by watching again was that the target note is on the new chord in each case. That didn't become obvious to me until I watched this video.

Great tip about resolving to the 3rd or 5th. I always hear people say to use the guide tones (3, 7), but resolving to the 7th often sounds weak. Even as a piano player there's still lots of great stuff in these videos. Thanks!

Attention to detail - why is the hot water feed pipe into the radiator behind you conected incorrectly? The radiator will never reach peak heating efficiency if you connect the water supply to the top of the radiator. The connection shoulld be lower to entrain heat energy circulation. Great video by the way.

Great video Jens. I have really enjoyed a lot of your videos and they have helped me immensely filling in some gaps in my playing such as showing me voicings for diatonic seventh chords on the low E and A strings. These types of videos are a great insight into how to think about playing over changes. Thanks again.

This is probably one of the most applicable lessons I have found on RU-vid, thank you!! I was wondering if you had a video going through the writing process of a jazz standard? Why some chords pull to others, maybe the different writing styles of Charlie Parker vs Duke Ellington (just as an example), and maybe how to apply it to our own originals? Again, this video has helped so much and will definitely be sticking around for more :)
