Here’s a trick to keep your pumpkins alive for at least two months without rotting. wipe them down with a wet paper towel really good and then get some mop and glow and put two coats of mop and glow on your pumpkin. Spread over evenly. It dries really quick and mine last from September to November without rotting 😃😃😃

What’s mop and glow? Never heard of it before I’m English, no one has ever said that here to my knowledge.

@@rachelhele7827 it’s a floor wax. I would imagine any floor wax will work. Just put two very light coats on. I put mine on with a paper towel.

Allison, take a drill bit and drill out that small area where the knob bolt hits. Your magnetic latch will keep that closed nice and tight. Also, did I see a metal roof on your library? If so . . . take advantage of it and use heavy duty magnets. I live in SW Missouri and we get high winds throughout the year. I have great success using magnets. Looking forward to soups, stews and comfort food. I love to cook and I get great inspiration from your colorful creations.

The pumpkin knob is too cute. Maybe you could drill down the spot a bit that it hits against and then add either a locking or magnetic mechanism of some sort so that the door won’t swing open. I'm a crafter also and I know how important it is to incorporate something you've found and love. Good luck 🍁🍂

Really lovely, lizards scare the bejeebers out of me. FYI If pumpkins don't have their stems, they decay faster. I learned the hard way. Pumpkins are rancid smelling.
