Welcome to this super simple fall tutorial! Today I’ll show you how to sew and pattern a basic beret, as well as customizing it into an acorn or a pumpkin suitable for the autumn and halloween season! This is pretty beginner friendly but if you have any questions don't hesitate to comment them down below!! Below you’ll find a list of the materials you’ll need for this project!
Supplies:
-1/2 yard felt in your desired colors. This is enough for two berets but you need the width of a half of a yard to fit the beret pattern on in one piece. Brown for the acorn beret and orange for the pumpkin
-(If making the pumpkin) 1 sheet of felt in green
-Matching thread
-Embroidery floss in brown or green
-OPTIONAL Some sew on clips like these : www.amazon.com... (Not sponsored just the ones I ordered!)
-Fabric Scissors
-Sewing machine
-Measuring Tape
For Pattern Making
-Paper
-Tape
-Scissors
-and a Pencil
The beret I used for reference came from here! clammyheart.shop/

USE YOUR FREE ARM for that inner seam, girl! This is where the free arm comes in soooo handy and is often overlooked. ANY tight curves, make use of this!

These are so cute! I love the acorn especially. Ooh, a black one with an embroidered spider web would also be cute for Halloween...

OK I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM WATCHING THIS!! specifically cutting the lines on the circular hem and turning the do-dad inside out. even watching you make the pattern helped a ton!!

I'm so glad!!!! I'm often too lazy to cut slits in curved seams but my god does it help so much! The turning the tubes usually work better than it did in that clip for like straps and stuff but the dodads were so small I struggled a little with them lol!!

Can someone explain to me about how you're supposed to measure the brim? I'm a little lost
@CaitlinAnderson
@CaitlinAnderson 2 года назад
Hi! I based my brim off of another beret that I already had and liked the fit of! If you don't have one to do this with, I suggest measuring around you head where you'd like it to sit and then using that measurement for the circumference of the inner edge of the brim, with the outer one matching the circumference of the top cap part of the beret and leaving room for seam allowance! Hope that's helpful!
