Avartana 2022 is NUS Indian Instrumental Ensemble's Semester 1 Showcase for AY 22/23.
Avartana explores the four seasons, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring through a musical light with each season conveying different moods, emotions and reflections, featuring excerpts from Jev Akshay’s poem, Ritu Pralayam. This student-led showcase also serves as a platform for creative expression for the performers to come up with their presentations and experiment with different instrumentations and presentation formats.
The show starts with Summer, presenting an exploration and interweaving of traditional Carnatic Compositions, followed by Autumn, which showcases a medley of film music and Carnatic fusion.
