Great in isolation, horrible for touring. Imagine he's a baseball player and he can hit a ball out of the court better than anyone (only if he pulls bad muscles). Great here and there, but every night for months and months and you'll end up with injury. Happens to a lot of singers, and M Shadows is no exception. For him nowadays it's about preservation and keeping the show going - and in fairness, he's picked up a ton of technique that makes the performance dynamic. Now I think those dynamics were pushed to such an extreme on The Stage that he injured himself again. I hope we'll see not only a stronger singer next time around, as well as one more athletic.

His voice was by far the best during nightmare and the following tour, I saw them multiple time throughout the years and his voice during nightmare tour was godly, 2008-2012 was peak years for Matt’s voice. It still rocked during city of evil and the early days but it was so amazing Over that 4 yr stretch. Just listen to them performing god hates us, Matt has probably his best scream ever during that performance.
MAN, were they sloppy then... That's what made me fall in love with this band. Not as the band that made "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet", but the band that made the first real hard rock album from people around my age, "City of Evil". I remember seeing the video for "Bat Country" in 2005 and thinking to myself, this band is going to be huge. That was before I heard the entire album, after that, they became one of my favorite bands of all time. They are equal parts SoCal punk and good old heavy metal. I've been a punker since I was around 12. Started with Green Day and my favorite band ever, is now T.S.O.L. That what going down the rabbit hole does to you, and A7X have been down that hole and back. They are equal parts Bad Religion, Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden. That why this band really got to me. It's the trifecta for any punker that grew up on 80's and 90's metal.
funny reading this comment but my dad was the original guitarist for TSOL back when they were still vicious circle. My dad is still good friends with Jack but let’s just say my dad got away from them at the right time 😂
When Matt said “we’re best friends” I wish I could go back in time and warn them of the future. The Rev was one of the first band members to pass that actually got to me.
I remember Bat Country, Beast and the Harlot and Seize The Day coming on literally every day but not knowing who they were. My friends brother showed me their self titled album in 2007 and I fell in love with them and learned all their songs on guitar lol
From what I learned, This was around the time when they started to get recognised in the mainstream scene and i can only imagine how special and unique it must be for the crowds in there to experience something that's not quite common in that fields. They were witnessing the beginning of something great and massive even the performers themselves couldn't imagine.❤
Thank you for uploading this, man! I always admire their attitude towards their music. They make and play their music for the sake of the music itself, not to please everyone. And they know people will either love or hate it anyway. And I love how they show so much appreciation towards their fans. Fly to recent time, they still don't change. Their attitude towards music still doesn't change. They put so much trust in their fans and their fans put so much trust in them back. I hope when the whole situation gets better and they can start touring again, they will release another amazing record. Or perhaps considering to release a few new singles in the near future.

“Off tour call each other immediately and go to a bar”…. This is very true. I saw them back in 2011 in bossier city, LA touring with seven dust and three days grace. . As soon as the concert was over I went to a bar and a7x and 7dust were there. Got to talk to the bands and man it was a blast
