a7x got me into metal, bfmv got me into metalcore, now all i can listen to is waking the fallen, and sounding the seventh trumpet, bfmv is good but not as good as a7x
@@ullenlaishram true but the fact that i heard the 2 newest bfmv albums and well..... not as good... as the poison...... a7x has kept a constant good album streak, even if u dont like all their songs each album has a song for u, for me my favs from each album are Thick and thin, streets, clairvoyant disease, radiant eclipse, eternal rest,sidewinder, strength of the world, betrayed, brompton cocktail, afterlife, tension, until the end, save me, natural born killer, heretic, crimson day, sunny disposition, angels
I would love to see him play Sidewinder. It’s my favorite A7X song. Eternal Rest is good and Desecrate through Reverence is also good. I’d also like to see him play Victim.
Well, he is using the same guitar, which by the sound of it is set correctly for Drop D. Tuning down to Drop C just throws the intonation off completely. Not to mention the strings he is using are probably not suited for down tuning. A7X stuff sounds fine.
@@Craigyyful All of BFMV's material up until this past album is in Drop C. Plus I have standard 10-46s and I don't start having issues until I get down to Drop A lol
Riff wise they are on level terms but clean parts and soloing of A7X are on a different world thanks to Synyster Gates...even during their metalcore he was scarily good to say the least
To add my two cents into the mix, I feel that Avenged Sevenfold’s riffs are either more groove-based or more colourful due to the band’s eclectic influences and how they’re shown in their music whereas Bullet For My Valentine’s riffs are more visceral, aggressive and more emotionally resonant. It’s not to say that one band’s riffs can’t convey the same vibes as the other, it’s to say that their styles highlight those aspects the most in their music. Regardless, both band’s riffs are sick as fuck and I can’t choose between them since they’re both my favourite bands.

They both mastered there roles , just they picked the different styles .. what bullet can do A7X can do it too and in the either way too it will be the same .. A7X is lil Gothic / RNR / metalcore Band ... B4MV is kinda Modern Metalcore band ... GET THIS STRAIGHT BFMV is kinda Modern
I think both bands have some great riffs, and it just suits well for their respective styles. But if I had to choose, I guess I'd choose A7X coz they are one of my top favorite bands. I love BFMV as well but not as much. I dig them both tho.
For everyone saying one is better than the other. How about both of them preforming at the same live concert. That’s the most badass thing I’ve ever seen and probably ever will see. My two favorite bands rocking out together. Amazing
AIC vs Disturbed? I hope this is a joke. Jerry is riff lord. Soundgarden vs Tool? Two very different bands but both have brilliant guitarists. In my opinion Soundgarden is way better than Tool, the former is heavy/alternative /stoner metal as well as hard rock/alt rock/psychedelic rock and earlier a metal band with punk sensibilities while Tool is an art/prog metal and prog rock band. Honestly Tool vs Deftones is a better contest. Gojira demolishes Behemoth. Opeth vs Mastodon? Two very different branches of prog metal. Honestly Mastodon has better guitarists but Opeth has more dynamic arrangements, it's anyone's game really

It's hard to choose. Both are really great and have amazing style. Both have gone to a less hard style so I can't pull that card. From a listening stand point, it's hard to decide. Honestly, it's a tie.
I may be in the minority here but though I love both bands, I mean M Shadows has a perfect voice for A7X’s sound. Zacky and Gates are a phenomenal guitar team. But I actually like BFMV more. They have a more thrash/speed metal vibe for me and I like that. I wish Matt had more consistency to his vocals like M Shadows does but at least their studio stuff is excellent. And of course Matt and Padge are amazing together. As far as solos go im a little more a fan of Padge than Gates. And overall I like more BFMV than A7X songs overall. I know it’s probably a minority opinion that’s just me tho.
Can we agree that both bands are amazing in their own ways? I prefer A7X just because I’ve listened to them longer, but these bands are my Fav and always will be.
Awesome. I like these longer videos. Gives us more of a g chance to hear our favorite songs (loved hearing playing God). Also liked the little animations you did for the band names and transitions. Good job!
I love both bands. Each bands does something on their own, they have a goal. Comparison is not even realistic. Saying Padge is not able to pick like Syn would be an assumption. Even if it's true that Syn is skill-wise much better than Padge, we wouldn't ever know unless they actually have a picking contest 1v1 live with the same gear and equipment (neutral, they've never used those), etc... which is also dumb. It'd be cool as hell, but dumb. That said, for the material we have to go for, A7X millions miles better, but it's just different styles as well.
Has any else here tried learned the scream riff? (alternate picking part) It’s so satisfying to play right but it’s way harder to learn than it looks! Syn is a wizard.
