The Aventon Aventure was my first ebike and the entire reason I am where I am today with these reviews. For me, that is the bike I compare all others too. So when they came out with the A2, well... it's hard not to be excited about it.

UPDATE: there’s nothing wrong with the Aventon Aventure 2 battery other than the operator trying to see how many amp hours he could pull out of the battery in a short time lol. Took a 20 mile trip and never got out of green and blue (eco/tour) pedal assist. No throttle! II only used 35% of the battery. There’s some story here about jumping to conclusions lol. Stellar job with the editing, Scott. You disproved all the naysayers claiming that fat bikes are not for single tracks! I would have guessed you'd get a flat or two. Amazing effort and results. If you do buy a full suspension eMTB, will you use the aventure2 mostly on the street?

I see you made this video a year ago. I've been looking into bikes recently and watched your review of the Ramblas before this one. In this one I noticed right away that the motor seems much quieter on the Aventure 2, and the bike doesn't have the annoying rattle/clattering sound that I've heard in multiple Ramblas reviews. Thanks for sharing these reviews.
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Месяц назад
You are correct. It doesn't make the rattling noise but the Ramblas is ton of tun on trails like this. I feel I can do big drops and jumps with the Ramblas and also it would approved at most single tracks. My Aventure 2, not so much. I wouldn't trust for big jumps or drops.

That video just confirmed what I knew all along- MTB riding isn't for me. LOL I got "motion sickness" watching but since I have never been on a trail, I couldn't help but keep looking. Exciting & good to know how it went with that bike. I have heard torque sensors were not good for hills, so now I am a little confused..... I want a small/folding bike due to space constraints when storing during winter but I also need gravel/off-road/snow/ice worthy tyres on a bike that can take a few steep hills on my way to/from work but at a reasonable price that evt. can be tuned to conform to "EU" standards. It isn't easy to find.

Hey Scott I ended up getting a Nomad 1, I am having buyers remorse after seeing the torque sensor was added to the aventure lol. Dont get me wrong I enjoy riding my Nomad which is all that should really matter.... but in your opinion do you think it is worth the upgrade to sell the Nomad and buy an Aventure 2? (I don't ride on trails too often, mainly around town/park on paved surface)
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Год назад
I love my Nomad 1. I was riding it just the other day. One thing I have noticed about having a torque sensor is that you have to put more effort into it. When I retired from the Army, they awarded me as 80% service disabled because of my back, knees, grip and other things. I notice that if I ride the Aventure 2 a lot, my knee will start acting up some due to me not quite used to shifting into the right gear. I would say that since you don't do the crazy stuff I do, that you stick with the Nomad, especially if you have any knee issues that a torque sensor might aggravate while getting used to it.

@@scotthardesty I'm near 70 yo; I'm not sure about the torque sensor vs cadence. I have long hills to climb, on the ride from my rural home to the nearest businesses in town. I'm not doing this for exercise, although that will be a side benefit. Also, I'm comparing this Aventon to Trek Allant 8S. They have 85 nm of torque, I'm told. What is rating for Aventure2? (I know, big difference in tires on the two)
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Год назад
@@rayrussell6258 Ah. I would go with the Aventure 1... its price got reduced and it has 80Nm of torque. I just looked up the Trek Allant 8S and that a huge difference in price. That Trek also has much smaller battery (625W compared to Aventons 720W). I see the 8S as being much more of a trail bike and I wouldn't see it being that great in the city. Although I could be wrong. I also don't see where it has a throttle either. I myself just purchased a Giant Trance X E+3 but I only plan on using it on the trails. If that is all you plan on doing with yours, then I do feel it would be better than the Aventure.
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Год назад
@@rayrussell6258 I also don't see a throttle, or an integrated brake light on the Trek. I might have missed those but having a throttle to help you take off from a stop is going to be a definite plus. Especially if there you are on a hill.
@rayrussell6258
@rayrussell6258 Год назад
@@scotthardesty yes, lack of throttle is an issue, as well as price. I haven't ridden a bike with the wider tires yet. My use will be on country pavement roads and on shoulder lane along 4-lane highway to connect with county roads, nothing off-road. I need more speed on that highway segment. I was impressed by the test ride I got to take on the Allant, but I'm seeing lots of videos of Aventure getting above 30 mph. With Allant I only got up to 25 mph on test ride. I was just beginning to look then, was thinking Electra brand until that day. The torque on Allant was much better than the Electra. However, the 80 nm on this Aventure is very close to the 85 on Trek. Good to know. Thanks.

Having taken your Aventon Adventure 2 on Bike trails would you recommend any upgrades?
@scotthardesty

Suspension Seat post and better seat. In the video I had already replaced mine. I did just put 4 piston brakes with 203 rotors on mine to see if it really makes a difference. Video coming soon.

@@scotthardesty so this means there are durability issues with the rotors and pads? How many miles have you ridden this ebike so far?
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Год назад
@@rayrussell6258 No. It just means that there was an issue with either the pads or the rotors from the factory and they sent me new ones. I have not had the bike long enough to say there is a durability issue.

What are your thoughts after a year + of ownership? Has anything broken or need to be replaced? Thx in advance
@scotthardesty

I have not been able to ride this bike near as much as I have wanted. Due to me constantly reviewing new bikes. I have just under 500 miles and I have had no real issues once we took care of that brake noise. This is still the bike I compare all the fat tire e-bikes in my head when doing reviewing them. For 26" fat tire bikes, this one is still the king in my eyes.

You could upgrade brake rotors and pads. Or just all the braking to 203 mm higher end brakes. Good you have a skid plate.. Same one on my Kepler fits.
@scotthardesty
@scotthardesty Год назад
If I was to upgrade them, it would be 203 rotots and 4 piston brakes, but I was able to get it all worked out with customer support and my brakes are spot on again.

After having multiple MTB fails with the Manidae. I would pick the Aventure over the Manidae every time. The Manidae turned out to be rubbish.

Love the bike design ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
