Do not generalize. If you listen to composers like Mark Petrie, Harry Lightfoot and most of the Audiomachine/Ninja stuff you will understand that the trailer formula still works really well. Unfortunately the oversaturation you're talkin about it's because most new composers tend to use the same chords, the same melody, the same string pattern in every track. The music of this video is well produced but this (and 90% of the tracks out there) lacks of a good hook which can tell a story.
@VicHobgoblin For sure, I like some of the stuff from audiomachine, they definitely have some amazing talent. I appreciate the compliment, I definitely leaned into the cliche on purpose for the sake of the video. It's similar to pop tunes using the same 4 chords in every song, which gets boring after a while. Hopefully cinematic tracks in popular media will move beyond the simplistic cliches that we are seeing.
@@MichaelDonaldsonMusic to me it's not wrong to follow the cliche. At the end, every trailer publisher don't risk too much with experimenting with the epic/hybrid formula which always work.
