Average fuel economy on a 120 mile road trip in SC, summer of 2021. I am impressed at the numbers! Check it out. 1:20 .. step outside the truck to talk
Yep I'd say 20.8 mpg is accurate. You should have the active fuel management, where your v8 shuts down 2 or 4 cylinders depending on power demand. Works great but has its fair share of problems. I have an 04 avalanche z71. No AFM, and average 16 mpg highway and 13 in town. In summer I roll with the back window down as well and love that air flow. You can't get that in a pickup or suv. Also love people's reactions when I load up with plywood and lumber and close the tailgate 😅
I am jealous, I'm not getting near that in mine.. What have you done to increase your MPGs? I've replaced spark plugs, O2 sensors, gotten new tires & keep the pressure correct, etc. I'm thinking I need to replace my fuel injectors and the fuel filter, but unfortunately in the Avalanche I would have to replace the entire fuel pump assembly to replace the filter. Any other ideas?
