The ability to make every song seem like they wrote it for each individual is amazing. This always reminds me of my woman... and I'm sure thousands of others feel the same way too. LOVE IT
Im not a song, Im not a sweater , Im not a fire, Im something better. Im a man in love writing you a letter. Will you take it? Will you keep it? Will you read it? Believe it? I love you, Im sorry.
By far my fav performance of this song I’ve seen! Love it when Scott sings in his full voice! Wish he would sing a whole song like that! Their voices blend so perfectly in that space...
Lyrics: I wish I was a flame dancing in a candle Lighting up your living room high on the mantle I could bring some romance without any scandal And then when you were done you'd just put me out I wish I was a tune you sang in your kitchen Putting your groceries away and washing your dishes I could roll around your tongue and ease the tension And then when you were done you'd just quiet down But if I get too close Will the magic fade? Would I turn you off or away? If I pull you in Now would I push you out Of something here you care about? Well I'm at a loss for what to do But I'm drawn to you I wish I was a sweater wrapped around your hips And when it got too cold into me you'd slip And when the sun came back you would hang me up And I would watch you while you undress But if I get too close Will the magic fade? Would I turn you off or away? If I pull you in Now would I push you out Of something here you care about? Well I'm at a loss for what to do But I'm drawn to you I'm not a song I am not a sweater I'm not a fire I am something better I'm a man in love writing you a letter Will you take it Will you keep it Will you read it Believe it I love you I'm sorry.

I don't know who you are, but thank you. We have been to so many of the same Avett Brothers shows and you've always uploaded the videos so I can also relive the moment. By any off chance, do you have If Its the Beaches from their last show in LA at the Shrine? In the last 6 years, I've seen them 13 times (nowhere near how many times you've seen them) but that was the one song I've always wanted to see them play but just couldn't go that night. :( Thanks for the videos!
Nothing like a good live performance where the audience can interact with the artist. It’s good to be surrounded by people who share the same feelings as you about good music. Sometimes it just can’t be contained!
Just randomly scrolling through comments and saw this one... and wanted to bring up the fact that Pearl Jam and Avett brothers will be headlining a show in jersery this sept. Been waiting over 10 years for this to happen!!
A friend of mine and I had a completely different take on the interpretation of the song. She thought the guy was apologizing. I (a male) was shocked to hear that. Instead, I believe when he sang "I'm sorry," he meant he was sorry it didn't work out. It was not an apology. The guys were just being brutally honest. Just goes to show how differently people look at and interpret things. Maybe I have it wrong, who knows or cares.
He is sorry he is in love with her. He was trying to just observer her from a far, but can't contain his feelings anymore so he has to tell her. That brings on a whole new burden to their friendship...so he is sorry but wants to give it a go
Stay home and listen to the album. A big part of any live show is about band/fan interaction. Any band would rather the whole house sing along rather than just sit and listen. Unless of course you’re Bob Dylan!
@@michaelbuckland2819 No wonder some USA bands consider Spanish crowds the best in the world. You can't shout like that in the middle of the performance, you are not alone in the crowd. Its just pointless to me.
It’s so disrespectful to holler and scream while the guys are singing! Shame on you. It must have been agony to sit anywhere near your big mouth!! I love Scott and Seth and I betcha they hate it too!
