Welcome to High Burnside trails, found in Aviemore. This was filmed as part of a mini Highland road trip and I am so pleased I visited.
For a long time I have wondered if Aviemore had much in the way to offer as a mountain biking destination or if Aviemore had any good MTB routes. I knew that there was definitely some MTB riding in Aviemore as it is situated close to the Cairngorms. Those of you have ridden mountain bikes in the Cairngorms know that there are a lot of natural / mountain routed there. I wasn't sure if Aviemore would have much trail riding or singletrack so I was keen to explore the trails there - known as High Burnside.
The singletrack at High Burnside, Aviemore is pretty incredible. All the trails seemed pretty tight, steep, rooty and rocky. I would definitely describe the mountain biking at Aviemore to be on the more technical and steep side.
Overall I had a great ride at High Burnside. My confidence was beginning to grow and it is a mountain biking destination I would revisit.
