Great Video Ryan! I unexpectedly ended up choosing a new 2023 CVO Street Glide in Platinum. I went in to the dealer to purchase a 2024 SG but this 23 was marked down 10%. Easy decision for me. Good advice, Ryan. I'm glad that I bought a SG in 2022; riding the 2024 SG, I was impressed with the added power and better suspension but not so impressed by the all-digital instrument panel. Frankly, I wouldn't spend the money on a 2024 - if I were inclined that way I'd want to wait and let HD iron the bugs out of the new infotainment system and see if any other issues show up on the new model, as I'm sure there will.

Good starting point for making a decision if you’re going to buy a new bike! 2/10/24 I took a ride on the new 24 RG, I have a 19RG and other than the new motor and head unit, I’m not seeing enough to justify making the jump as this is the first year the water cooled motor is in production and the Skyline head unit is only out since 23 on the CVO’s. I think if you don’t own a 107 or bigger than this might be a good option but I’m not seeing any read benefit!! They look great but just not enough to justify unless you just want one or you’re buying for the first time!!!

I never take long trips. I never put down mile after mile. I ride short trips, love canyons, and had three Suzuki Haybusas, a Kawasaki ZX-14, a Ninja 10R, and several dirt bikes. The ST is the way for me to go. I had a 23 RG ST... it was nice, but the 2024 is so much more amazing. Been watching all your videos, Ryan. Well done and thanks for being logical and not emotional.

Thank you for the review. I literally made a decision today and used this review to support my decision. Ultimately I am sticking with my 2023 street glide special as my bike of choice. I was looking at the 2024 road glide but in the end….the performance capacity and classic design of the atlas silver 23 SG is still my favorite touring bike. I also own an Indian challenger 23 but usually ride that for ripping and tearing around town. When I want a long, peaceful and proud ride across America…it’s the 23 SG special for me. Thanks again!

Very well said, Ryan!! The cvo st is a sick bike, but if you ride thousands of miles at a time and ride long haul all the time, the standard model is going to be better!! The st can probably do trips of up to 700 mile or so in a day but doing it all the time that would fatigue the rider pretty quick!!!

What ever model you pick, the worst part of Harley buying is the Dealers and shady pricing practices. They had the nerve to ask $33,500 otd (state tax is only $1,100) for a $26,600 msrp 2024 SG just today. I'd rather ride a Grum cross country than giving them my business. Disgusted. One call to a small town dealer and the price is down to $28,990 for the same bike including 2 year extended Warranty.

Harley should put guidelines on the consumers dealer experience, and actually do something about it. I really dislike going in there and playing all the shenanigans with them. Very unprofessional and play a lot of games.

Just road my 2024 FLTRX from Myrtle Beach to Laconia NH. It was a great riding motorcycle. Handled the interstates with out any problems. Once there was able to carve the Kancamagus Pass as well. One complaint. Infotainment system couldn't be heard over 45 mph. Had to pump GPS and music through my SENA. Hence had a amp and speakers installed by Audiowerks. Big difference riding from my 2002 FLT, when I rode from Daytona Fl. to Laconia. In between these two motorcycles I have had had 2015, 2017, and a 2018, all FLTRX models. This by far is the smoothest, and has plenty of horse power and torque .

I think you are spot on I would get a street glide maybe in the shark skin color. My old 09 road king with a 96 twin cam stage 1 with a tune holds on pretty good to the faster bikes and living in the western NC mountains I enjoy the old bike. The standard street glide with a tune would be all I would need. Thank you for the honest review.

I am not in the market for a new Harley but I support your channel and love the content. Prior to this video I priced out the 2024 Street Glide for fun and added the 2 up-touring "kit" they have now. The price was similar to the 2024 Ultra Classic. So it is just a matter of a little more motor at that point I guess. But if add in the new display and rider assist modes then Hmmm. For now though the Twin Cam 2015 Road King is good enough for 2 up riding in and around Upstate New York. And of course the slow speed practice sessions. But ask me again when my kids are out of college. LoL. Ride Safe, Be Safe.

Many interesting choices for the 2024 Harleys. I chose the standard Road Glide, added SE pipes and Stage 1, Legend Revo shocks with front to follow. Rode many batwing models and find the RG lighter handling and more stable at highway speeds and cross winds. Thousands less and a great touring bike.

Ryan, been following you for years. I was caught in a dilemma, I bought a 2022 street glide st in May of 2023. Before that bike had been riding road glides which is my bike of choice, in 2015 myself and two of my friends rode to Anchorage Alaska on a 2015 road glide cvo. When I saw the 24 Road glide cvo st release in January the white cvo st just had me at hello. Then I went to my dealer the exact bike was on showroom floor the Friday before you went to Vegas to test ride the cvo st. I put my name on the bike to buy, then they hit me with a decreased 6,000 trade in value on my bike. Watched your videos on review of bike talking about maybe this bike would not be a perfect bike for touring. Test rode bike, the suspension and handling is a big improvement over 22 st, plus torque and power is a adrenaline rush. Needless to say I bought bike today, look forward to future updates and info you give on these new models. The only downfall is cannot ride two up on bike, wife will not ride without backrest, hopefully they will come out with relocation hardware for the shock adjustments. Thank you for your service and keep up the good work !

I think basically if you’re someone who will just be crushing a lot of miles on the highway, the regular RG or SG will be more practical. You do sacrifice a few nice touring features if you get the ST CVO. You like high RPMs and just ripping around town or a track, get the CVO ST.

I am leaning towards the cvo road glide, but this video makes it harder for me to decide.I like shinny new toys with lots of bells and whistles, but I also have tricked out my Heritage with a custom seat heated grips Legend revo-A suspension, which is so nice to adjust from the buttons on the handlebars, and a bunch of other things. Almost all of that comes on the cvo. If the Showa suspension is good enough for my 3 herniated discs to keep riding without pain, it isn’t a huge jump from the tricked out standard RG. Then I have to think about resale. This a a question, I hear the CVO will always hold more value, is the difference enough to pay the extra like 9K up front for the vvt and 121 or should I not worry about it and customize the standard like you suggest? It’s just harder now!

I wonder why they left the biggest touring model a 114 but upgraded all the other motors. We ride 2 up on long trips loaded down with gear, the Limited's and Ultras are the ones which need the power upgrade and besides the CVO are the most expensive. Ill hold onto my 2020 for a while I think...

Like most people, and owner of 2 ST models, Road Glide and Lowrider, i like the CVO ST. i had a 23 CVO SG, the infotainment system was very glitchy at best. I may wait another year to jump back on a CVO. I lost a lot of cash trading back out of it. But that CVO ST is nice looking, no denying that.

I love the new models, they look really great. I am very interested in the Road Glides, as a potential replacement for my 2017 Ultra Limited. I AM going to hold off for about 3 to 4 model years, so I can see that Harley has worked out any design flaws in the infotainment system and engine. I was fortunate to not to experience any of the sumping and blow by issues on my 2017, but I did decide to install a performance cam and replace my cam plate and oil pump with the S&S gear driven unit. I did this primarily to remove the questionable OEM oil pump. My only negative comment for Harley is that it would be nice if they could learn to catch issues such as the original M8 oil pump before releasing the bikes to the public. My concern for this is so substantial, that I will definitely will not be upgrading now. I need clear demonstration through a couple of model years, that there are no issues to work around as a new owner. Sorry Harley, I love these new designs, but I am unwilling to be your final level of R&D!!!

How is the wind management between the RG and SG? With the 15-23 fairings the RG has better wind management. How do these compare?

While I like the redesign, matte black plastic all over the bike looks cheap, the front wheel looks like an afterthought, like a newer Enforcer, but not even all black on the black bikes. And, streamliner floorboards?

I also really dislike the new wheels, and the unpainted fairing. Like you said, the wheels just don’t match on the black trim option bikes IMO.

The whiskey fire was my first option to Ryan. But my mind changed when I seen the Blue Burst in the Black trim at my local dealership. I've been on a Trike for a few years due to accident, but I've been waiting to go back to two wheels for a while now. I just don't know if I want the Street or Road Glide just yet.

I recently test rode a 24 SG. I didn’t think it’s was a big enough upgrade from my 2016 to pull the trigger. I only tour on mine, I never really ride locally. Do you think Harley will ever make a touring bike with an electric windshield? All other touring bikes have them except Harley

What would be a reasonable price to buy a new 2023 Harley Street Glide 107 (standard) compared to the 2024 model? Is the 2024 actually improved overall compared to a 2023?

Those are some awesome bikes. But base price of $43K? Plus all the dealer add ons is probably closer to $50K. I believe that I can do a whole lot of upgrades to my old Electraglide for that. And still have plenty left to totally rebuild my Shovelhead.

Definitely NOT. After 14 with the Rushmore bikes that went away with new frame design. You are in for a HUGE UPGRADE from a pre 14 biker. Enjoy. Like a cadillac

I think you have pulled the trigger on a 24 since this video, now that you have one for a while how your headsets you already had work with the new system. I have a nagging feeling we will have to give up our old HD branded headsets and get new cardio HD headsets to have full functionality with the 24 bikes. Just like all the pitfalls that went the old whim compatibility set up.

I think it's super rad that Harley built a track focused bagger, but for track days i'll be taking my Kawasaki H2R so for my it's the standard Street Glide or the Road Glide because it's a touring motorcycle to experience the world on. So for me the question is Street Glide or Road Glide. It's leaning towards the Street Glide because it's just so damn classy, elegant and graceful.

I’ve owned both the shark nose fairing and the batwing fairing. I’m on the shorter side at 5’9”. Because the cockpit is more open on the shark nose, I think it suits taller people better and the batwing fits shorter people better. Maybe that’s just my opinion, but that is part of why I like the batwing. The other part is I just think it looks sleeker. Bulky isn’t something I go for. I like both, but on a scale from 1 to 10, on the older model, I liked the batwing bikes best giving it an 8 out of 10 in looks. The older shark nose would get a 7 out of 10 in my book. These newer models both improved in the looks department for me. I like both a whole lot. It was TIME for a change. I would now give the batwing bike a 10 out of 10 and the shark nose an 8 out of 10.

What did HD do to correct the 2023 CVO SG fairing aerodynamic issues for the 2024 models? It's bullshit that it hasn't been addressed. HD claimed weight savings but later added a "ballast" to correct aero issues. If you're a reputable HD resource, please answer.

I would not get any of them, before they haven‘t fixed the bad iphone integration, the lazy-lowsie-slow boot-up time and the wobbly flexy cases (which easily will create leaks, won’t last with the constant „moving“ and likely won‘t hold when the bike lays on them without a protection frame). I like the new models, but these are pretty annoying issues to spend so much money on a reliable tourer. And, I have a big tourer that still holds up with all I need, a Indian Chieftain Limited, specked up in suspension, Screen and lights.

Wise choice for standard. CVO ST is a track bike. Drinks more gas and has less low end torque but more in the upper range than stock. It only wins in looks and not in practicality. I ride mostly aggressively in the Twisties and go on two week get away rides. But this ST should of been a little more balanced for both road riding, but Instead they went full force as a track day bike. The fad of over building bikes that no one really uses to its potential is such a waste. People who know how to ride like yourself can easily ride or out ride a rider with a fast bike in the Twisties if they don't know how to ride properly. I hope this video helps some guys make wiser decisions.

Great rundown. Thanks for saying Standard 77 times. Only Standard is a Softail. There are no other "Standard s". CVO ST is pointless. Should have been "race ready" like the Indian Challenger KofB version. Otherwise it's just a ricky racer waiting to be smoked by a 20 year old clapped out GSXR. Manually adjustable suspension on 50k bikes? No thanks. Still 10 years behind the competition. Head over to your local BMW dealer for function and performance for a lot less dead Presidents.
