I ordered Records for 425 EUR from the US and UPS made me pay 13,50 EUR "Broksrage Taxes". What in the world is a "Broketage Tax"? I mean I already paid the usual Import Taxes, but what is a "Brokerage Tax"? Who gets this money. The Seller or UPS?
@@DeannaDreams I did, but guess what they said somethong like they also do not know, as the person hardly spoke german language. It seems to me like a trick. I often spoke to transport companies and they do not speak german fluently but should sound sweet so that the customers give up. It is very stupid to me and makes me angry. Nowadays service is manipulated on my thinking.
@@DeannaDreams Yes Canada Post . So if you get the parcel sent from USA through USPS (united states postal service) it will be delivered by canada post and the brokerage fee will be $10.00
crzy11000; how did you do it exactly? I asked UPS to have it handled by Canada Post - they said they are not within their “approved list” of brokerages? The only options were : a) assign UPS as the broker, b) assign another approved broker from their list and c) do it yourself

Question.... I'm in the U.S. and getting charges these brokerage fees. Most of the videos and info I see on this is from people in Canada... I'm the opposite, getting a package FROM Canada.... Any idea if it's the same process? I obviously don't have a CBSA near me. Lol.

Hello, I'm not sure how customs works in the US. This video is for Canada only. But depending on the value of your item, you customer may need to pay extra and separately for import taxes. Hope this helps.
Hello:) So I ordered a package from South Korea and let me tell you the shipping was already damn expensive but I was okay. I didn’t know anything about DHL, I didn’t even receive an email saying when it was going to come. I received the package today and at my surprise I had to pay 25$....I was confuse and didn’t have any answers. The delivery guy was just waiting for me to pay so I did pay not knowing what it was for🤦♀️ now that I’m doing research I found out about self-clearance....can I still self clear if I have already my package...? Is there a time limit..? (The item was 55-60$ and I payed 25-30$ for shipping so another 25$ sucks😭) help.. someone?
Hi Jocelyne, sorry to hear that happen. I believe that you wouldnt be able to self-clear if you already paid with DHL, but call them and ask again just to be sure. And if I were you, I wouldnt worry about the $25. It is a lot of hassle self-clearing and I’m not even sure if CBSA is open during the pandemic. But next time, you’ll know how to do it 😉

Hey, im hoping you can reply to me in a couple of hours because im planning on doing the process tomorrow and im so nervous. Im 16 and I want to self clear the package. My parents are both busy with work so they dont have time to go with me. Do I need to bring an adult with me to do all this or can I just do it mysef? Because cbsa is like 2 hours away from where I live and I dont want to get there for them to just tell me that I need an adult with me. Im actually so scared right now
Hey girl, I actually just cleared another package last week. Heads up, the address on the video is not up to date. As for bringing an adult, I'm actually not sure. I brought my ID with me but they didn't look at it.

Hi love, it should be this address: 1980 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON L4W 5R7 But just a heads up, I try and go there last year and they were closed. If you ever go, please let me know if they are open again.
Last time I tried doing this, about 1 year ago during lockdown.. the CBSA where I went to was either closed or I didn't remember the correct address. So I gave up and paid the fees. I will upload another video on how to self clear during the pandemic soon when time comes :)
