Making you feel guilty for feeling trapped in the relationship..

Accepting that they are just going to project and blame (no matter what you do) does seem to be key to getting out of the abuse cycle. Thank you!

They're not happy when you're nice to them. They will always find some fault to blame you for. They're not happy when you call them out. They're not happy when you separate yourself from them. Maybe you are not a problem then, their constant dissatisfaction is.

Guilt tripping is often used as a diversion strategy to avoid looking at what the narcissist has done and is covering up. As long as you are spinning on the hamster wheel of guilt, they can carry on with their deceptions. Good video as always!

I suffer from major depression and ended up getting very sick with covid recently and had to be hospitalized for 5 days. My mom decided she was going to do me a "favor" and clean my apartment while I was gone. Well, seems nice, but when she brought me home from the hospital, I got a guilt trip on how disgustingly messy my apartment was and how it took her days to clean it. Meanwhile, she's ignoring the fact that I have depression and don't have the inclination to clean most of the time, and had the audacity to give me a guilt trip the moment I am home and still in recovery, let alone its none of her concern whether my apartment stays tidy or not. They have no limits to their guilt trips.

They make everything all about them. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I hope you are recovering well.

She should just have done it and tell you she was surprised your depression got your apartment in this state instead of judging you. Instead of judging you she could have expressed concern and helped you without making you feel bad. If i were her i wouldve cleaned and asked you if you wanted to talk about anything thats on your mind. And i wouldve asked you to ask help whenever the going gets though. Im usually ocd hardcore but also have periods where major depression takes over and i let my dishes pile up. So i def understand. Needless to say your mother lacked diplomacy and empathy there. I hope you find the motivation again to take care for yourself and enjoy your own company despite the depression. And start learning to enjoy taking time to take care of yourself without feeling selfish guilty or ashamed or anything. If she wouldve handled it more empathically i guess what I'm trying to say you woulve had more chance to be inspired to love yourself more if she wouldve talked differently. Im so sorry to hear you have to endure this. And i truely hope your mom will have a moment of clearity you never know. Had a hard time with my mothet for long. But things seem to have changed for the better now. And i wish the same for you. I wish for your mom to see the light, so she can be emotionally closer to you. Stay strong like you already are. And try not to repeat peoples judgements of you too much in your head it will only harm you. And also believe in yourself especially when nobody else will. Give yourself approvel. You have a right to exist no matter if you feel jolly or blue. You have a right to your personal experience. Nobody can take that away from you. I hope this helps even if just a little

Profound insight. I see you as an old soul with such wealth of knowledge. Wow. You just explained a lifetime of hell I had endured that became habits, unknowingly in having been groomed to be an enabler. Any young person stuck in the scapegoat role get away from these people as soon as you can.Get a good education and get rid of these big children. My whole adopted family never took responsibility for their games. I'm amazed i lived through this for so long. And It took years to see what you just pointed out in 15 minutes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work. The shame they project is unreal. Youre really helping people. No matter how old or young.🎉

My ex who I was living with asked me to contribute to the food bill. Well, I shopped also, spent on food. I also put money in a kitty box. She asked for £10 a week. I said no, reminded her of my contributions and where the kitty was, and that I also liked going out to buy food. I was shamed forever .. "It was ONLY £10, you couldnt even do that" .. and it was told to other people, and in front of people. Made me look unreasonable, unable to be part of a relationship, selfish, and a reason for her to leave me .. again. You know, I was so good to her, treated her and her family, my finances were a complete ruin come the end, even before that, and I'm careful with my money. Same with my ex wife .. the arguments over all that you talk about here .. and I lost sooooo much financially and all ways.. because saying no is challenged to the nth degree, you finally give in .. sometimes just to prove a point

My father was narcissistic and schizophrenic so we had to give him money and see hi, and put up with being around him which was a nightmar, talk about the luck of the irish, i always felt sorry for him because he had such a terrible life, and was totuted fro, inside by the shizoby the shizoid frightening visions he saw! He was a madman, poor soul! I never hated him like i hated my mother, but now i don"t hate anyone, we all have 😈 some much more than others! I still hate my mother a bit 🙃 i suppose , but i loved my grandmother on dad's side and grandfather!tortured

It’s more like, “that’s fine, I’ll just walk 5 miles to the bus and make sure I have my mace with me and try to avoid all the rapers out there and bring an extra jacket and hope for the best since you won’t give me 20 bucks for gas” Yeah that sucks for you probably should figure out how to manage your money better 😗

There’s a difference between the first time this happens and the 32nd time it happens. But not for them.
