Thank you for the helpful video! I've only been on the site a few weeks and have already been invited to higher paying project. I've not worked on it yet. I have studied the instructions, to make sure I do a good job when I start on the project. I agree with you - DA isn't gonna be around "forever", and I'm looking for a regular job after being layed off, like so many. It's good, flexible extra money for sure! It's also a "black box" and they must have a reason for not revealing who they are. I assume they're affiliated with multiple large tech companies with deep pockets.
This job forces you into a trap that a lot of freelance workers face: being paid less because you're fast. When you hit "submit" on a task, there's no guarantee that you get another task at the same pay level, so of course inflating your time is extremely tempting. This means that if everyone is working on the same high-paying task and trying to do so quickly, they're robbing themselves. But I suppose this is the future of work: piecemeal tasks, no guarantees, no benefits, and high-competition.
It depends on how long it has been, if it’s been over two weeks and you haven’t got any tasks on your dashboard, and never received an acceptance email, then it’s unlikely you passed.
I'm a stay-at-home mom of three kids ages 5 and under. I really need to make extra money, but I'm concerned about being able to focus on the projects with consistent time. What is the best way to go about this when I don't really know how it works before I start?
I would just have a timer running in another tab, so you can easily pause the timer whenever you get distracted and restart it again when you can continue working. That way you will still be reporting your honest, actual time worked.
Did you have a review about a month in, when you had no tasks for a few days or a week or so? It _is_ mentioned in the onboarding (or somewhere) that this will happen. And were you notified that this was happening or when it had happened? - Thanks.
I’m not aware of having any review, but it I have heard about people having them. As far as I’m aware they don’t let you know, unless there is issues with your work that they want you to improve on. Apparently you do lose access to tasks though whilst it occurs, so this may explain why you currently have no tasks.
In my opinion the skills needed to be successful on the site are good attention to detail, being able to compare two similar things and decide which is better based on instructions you have been given, strong English reading and writing skills, and re-reading your answers to check for errors before submitting your work.
@@WormsWorld23 The assessment seems to be logic oriented in general. I'm hoping its just a "warm bodies" situation where they just want someone who can understand what they read.
That’s more in reference to working on two projects at the exact same time, as in having one open in one window and another in another window, to double up on time logged, if that makes sense?
I believe it is possible, however, that early on it could also just be a review. Reviews seem to last around a week and you may not have access to tasks during this time, from what I understand.

I get some new tasks every now and again and I try hard to do them well, but they go away in a day or two. Since they do not speak, it is impossible to know the criteria and I pay close attention to the instructions.
Ahaha, all you can do is put in consistently good work when you do have tasks available, and hopefully access to more projects should follow, but it may take time.
Not all projects have a slack chat, but if you get added to a project that does, then you should get invited to the projects slack chat, as far as I’m aware.
