Our videos are a couple of months behind. Fast forward to today, we are doing a "soft opening" in a couple of weeks with our first 3 pull-through RV sites coming online. We don't see any road blocks to have 50A electric and sewer at those sites within the next 2 weeks. We have a water tap and meter at the road and almost everything to run water, but one stinking part is on a 33 week backorder blocking us from moving forward with water hookups. We can truck in Tennessee spring water until then. However, If anyone can find us (4) Ford Corp part number F1000-4-Q-NL water tap/valves, we would be very grateful and can have water hookups too!
@@vger66 that's a great price! An old high school classmate found some in Michigan and mailed them to us. We are all set and actually installed 3 of them this past weekend! Thanks for checking!
Very interesting and informative video. Will help other owners there. So nice you took the advice of commentors and saved the logs rather than burning. Shows your thoughtful and caring nature. Loved the part with Penelope, too. Such a sweet doggie. M :)
Burning isnt a big deal. It created BIO CHAR which is necessary for the soil. Another option, which is not quite as good as Bio Char, is chipping. You can use the chips to landscape, & you can use them as compost in garden beds.
As always, love your videos. They are very informative, and will help us when we start developing our property. OMG! Penelope is such a sweet girl. Loved that you featured her in the video.
Burning the trees is the best method if you dont want fire wood or wood chips. Burning creates BIO CHAR which is the best for the land. Chips are good for decorative landscaping or garden beds as compost. Very interesting vids.
Hi Troy, my name is Adam I purchased property in Linden not long after you did. I have 3 acres over on Denton road. I have been doing my best to clear it myself with a chainsaw and let me tell you it’s a lot of work! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and enjoying them. I contacted one company about putting in a culvert so I can get better access to my land however they said they didn’t have the tools to do it. I imagine that forestry mulcher would do a fantastic job for clearing for septic since it doesn’t disturb the ground. What company had that and who would you recommend to maybe put in a culvert? I plan on putting a tiny house on my property and maybe a geo dome on the higher part of my property. I like what you did with the pathways I think I will do something similar my land is so steep in places it’s hard to get up it. Anyways, thanks for the content and I look forward to the next video.
This is unverified and maybe a rumor... someone told us, who told them, who heard it from someone else that the best place to get a culvert is by reaching out to the city/county road department and they can hook you up with a culvert (you'll have to pay for it). Then you'll need to hire an excavator to install it. It should be easy/peasy and any excavator can probably install it in an hour or two. Again, we do not have any experience with this as Linden Camp is at the high point along the road without a need for culverts. So your mileage may vary.
@@RvParkBuilder I contacted them a while back they did years ago do it for free however due to budget cuts and Covid they no longer provide that service. Do you recall which company had that forestry mulcher ?
@@adamtlee Good morning Adam! Sorry to hear about the dead end with the road department. Pretty much all the excavators will have a forestry mulching head for their skid steers or track hoes (Excavators). Tell you what.... we have a video coming out this weekend "7 land clearing methods: Pros and Cons" that may be perfect for you. It's 66% rendered as I write this. We will put a list of the local to Perry County, TN excavating contractors that we have used or know of in that description of that video. The list will be just that... a list. The list will not be an endorsements nor our recommendations.
@@RvParkBuilder sounds cool Troy thank you! I’ll be heading out with the ol chainsaw tomorrow to “chip away” at my property some more. Always a good time to get out and work with my hands.
