Listening to you, I realized how much I have compromised myself for the people around me and how unnecessary that was. I learned once again how valuable it is to be surrounded by people who accept us as we are. Thank you🙌

I distanced myself from my friend. Before she went to uni, I was going through my own stuff. On that particular day, I felt like I was moving forward, but then I realized she was leaving for university in just two days. I had to explain that I didn’t mean to come across harshly; I was just dealing with my own issues. For a long time, I had felt that the friendship wasn’t adding much value to my life. Every time we hung out, it felt like I was wasting time and money, and our conversations were mostly focused on guys without much depth. We didn’t share the same mindset on many important things. There were moments when she made strange remarks, like one time when she said, “Why do all the guys like you?” I found that really weird, especially since she said it under her breath. I also caught her in lies, which I really hated, but I never confronted her about it because I wasn’t sure how to handle the situation. It’s tough navigating friendships, especially when I don’t have many friends. Ultimately, I decided that I didn’t want to force myself into a friendship that wasn’t benefiting me, so I needed to part ways. I want to clarify that I don’t want her to think I’m jealous of her, especially since you mentioned your friend cutting you off around uni times, which makes you feel she might be jealous. The last thing I want is for her to think that. I’m focusing on my own growth and happiness instead. Now that she’s gone to university, I realize it was probably for the best. I want to surround myself with people who are on the same wavelength as me, rather than those who encourage behaviors I don’t align with. Her mindset was about spending everything now for the memories, but I prefer to save and invest in my future. Despite everything, I genuinely wish her the best.
