Enlightening vlog. I see Pitchup reviews reflect exactly how you showed the site to be. Thought CAMC was expensive at £34/night, but it makes their clean and well maintained sites appear a bargain. Surprised to see how many pitches were occupied though! Great vlog, I think your review was very constrained and professional, you let the site speak for itself. Shows how important research is and don’t assume the more expensive the better it is. Wouldn’t encourage me to try any of their sites. All the best to you both.
I would have personally gone to reception got one of the staff to come with me shown them the problems. And demanded my money back. What an absolute dump . And the price charged 😡
I’ve watched all you videos from the start . How you improved so much is incredible. Your music editing is the best on the RU-vid 👏🏆from sue and mart in Somerset
Very well done for speaking your mind and for calling these rip off merchants out for what they are. On a positive note, your humour had us in stitches throughout despite us being from the other side of The Pennines! Thanks also for introducing us to World Goes By - we have both added this to our playlists. Not so sure about the Madri though - maybe keep that within Yorkshire. We love the vlogs and please keep them coming. John and Debs.
I have heard exactly the same from other people who stayed at a Park Dene site, I think they are the worst in the business. Surprised nobody has reported them to Environmental Health as I’m sure they would be interested. By the way, just back from Norfolk and we could get Madri beer there if we had wanted it. Happy travels 👍
@@Stchristopherofatlantis we stayed at Manor Lodge CL in Staith Road, Ludham. Two pubs within walking distance, both serve food. Superb butchers at the top of the road plus a general store. There’s a secret garden to explore (dogs are welcome, on leads) and a longer walk or cycle ride to Womack Staithe, Horsefen Road where you can watch the boats on the broads. I recommend that for a trip.
Wow what a s### hole! Thanks for showing us as we had thought of staying there when we headed up country! Big swerve now ! Another site just taking the money whilst leaving alit of the site looking like a tip ! Fantastic video as usual guys thanks again 👍
The area itself is fab, Thursdays video shows the nature and beauty, the problem is that site. There were others on the coastline stretch 👍👍 happy travels
@@Stchristopherofatlantisand thats not a joke. For us locals its been a no go place for years. Even the police use trials bikes. On the plus side, your motorhome wasnt burnt out and your stuff wasnt stollen. A lucky escape.
Well I never, Willie and I stayed at a Parkdean Resort in Nairn last week. We were £126 for two nights. Like you we were at the ARSE end of the camp site. Very similar set up to yours although our pitch was level and we had gravel. The pitches were quite close together and felt slightly claustrophobic. The toilets were clean, but very dangerous coming out the shower as very slippery, nowhere to put anything and only 3 showers for vans, caravans and tents. The gents toilets had a few broken seats so hubby told me. The site was clean enough but very very expensive. We went out site to the harbour and to a nice cafe for breakfast, then walked along a lovely promenade and they did have Blue flag beach for about the 4th time in a row. I did leave comments on Pitchup who we booked with and also Trust pilot. We could have gone into Nairn, but it was very warm and I was getting hot and bothered. The lesson is for us NO MORE PARKDEAN. Very funny vlog though guys. Jan and Willie x🤬
Hi Jan and Willie. Sorry to hear it wasn’t great for you, I think we are the same and won’t be going back to a Park Dean. Such a shame Have a great week xx
Outrageous. 😮 How can they charge that for dogs. Shocking place. Looks and sounds like a nightmare 😱 Did you ask if there was a party bag and disco for the dogs😂❤
Thanks for showing us around, definitely saved us taking a look 😂 We had talked about going a couple of times but I read the reviews, and it so matches them! Can’t believe the cost for what it is, we stayed at a Park Deane site at Southerness in Scotland and that was ok when we stayed, so surprised they have let it go so much as it could be a nice site couldn’t it. Makes the Gare very appealing doesn’t it - you guys should go back there :) Have a great rest of the weekend, All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi David and Rachel, There were other sites on that stretch, so maybe look at those? The walk to Hartlepool was fantastic and we loved the headland in particular Have a great Sunday evening ☀️👍
I cannot beleive they charge that much , but we would not pay that much for a site. Its pure fleecing. There are lots of lovely cl sites or pub stopovers.
Just had 3 nights in the Cotswold at Bourton-on-the-Water. Fab little quiet site. Great dog walks, 15 min walk into town where pretty much every place welcomed dogs. All for £26 pn with EHU (video coming soon).
Love you're sarcasm it was so funny, but totally justified seeing the state of the pitches and toilets.not worth the £56 price tag...love you're videos, I'm so looking forward to getting a camper next year and exploring...keep up the good work.
@Stchristopherofatlantis live just down the road from it about 45mins, have stayed before but as members and couldn't remember it been that expensive, many thanks for reply 👍
We love your sense of humour, absolutely hilarious!! Shocking prices mind you. Having moved to Valencia we are spoiled with inexpensive, quality campsites especially using the ACSI card. Not to mention lovely free park ups provided by local communities in small villages. Thanks for introducing us to Houses on the Hill too, what a beautiful song.
We stayed at parkdean about 15 hrs ago in a static caravan , the caravan was lovely also the site was ok and they didn't have touring pitches then for caravans or motorbikes or tents, But we did find that the beach was full of broken glass bottles also lots of rubbish. We did speak to a local person who did say that a lot of bottles especially the plastic ones are often thrown overboard along with lots of rubbish. But its no reason for the dog poo to be every where. and Being the owner of two Labradors it anoyes me when people don't pick it up.There's no excuse for it. Great videos by the way . Love watching them 👍
If I'd have pulled up and seen that, I'd have driven straight back out. What a dump. I'd rather have stayed in a layby. You two do know how to make the best out of a bad situation though. You're great. Keep up the good work. P.s what is the music you play at the end?
The camping lark in the UK varies from being fabulous to terrible. The brass neck of some sites in charging X amount for virtual middens is unbelievable. Contrastingly, some sites are beautifully maintained and reasonably priced. As a solo cyclist I've been offered pitches for up to £35pppn and as low as £7pppn; neither with 'hook-up' The vast number of campers i've met (throughout UK and EU) have been thoroughly decent, respectful people. Some however have no sense of sharing space and will, if not stopped, quaff the night/morning away whilst not listening to the drum and bass they're inflicting on their near neighbours. I quite like drum and bass too! As a rule of thumb I avoid the larger campsites that are close to major attractions and use smaller sites that are run well ( but not by a Camp Commandant )
Hi guys. Thanks for the heads up on this site just sorry you had to suffer it. On a better note my wife and I are new subscribers to your channel. What a breath of fresh air you both are. Hilarious! 😂 Love your banter and rapport with each other. We’ve been in stitches especially the location 3 words 😂 and Habitosis 😂 Keep em coming! 👍🏻
Helloooo welcome to our channel and we are delighted you found us 👍 Thanks for subscribing and we hope you continue to enjoy. There is a what 3 words in this next video 🤣🤣
@@Stchristopherofatlantis We’re already looking forward to it 😁👍🏻 My wife (Julie) is also from Sheffield and she has the same problem of not being able to reach things in cupboards because she’s only 4’11 😂
My wife is a Yorkshireman! And she’s bought me a Yorkshire wallet. I’d be demanding her money back!! £56? I want to stay a night, not buy the bloody site!!
We stayed in a lodge near the old entrance to crimdon dene a few months ago, we could see the dunes cafe from our lodge, it was a beautiful lodge i must add. On the first night, after dark, we noticed how many cars used that little road. The next day we had a walk down the lane to the beach side but soon realised it was a dead end road, later my wife humourously joked its doggers, oh how we laughed. Me being me, i googled Hartlepool dogging sites and guess what, it was that road that you walked down, also used for drugs drops! Nice informative video chaps to a not very good sit from what we saw driving through it using the designated drive roads
We unfortunately went to parkdean at sunny dale last year. The toilets were portacabins, ehu posts just sticking out of the ground, most at an angle due to being driven in to. The ground was deeply rutted grass, as far from any entertainment block as you could get. We complained & got a move to Skegness site. Toilets were brick built but presumably the staff were not allowed in to clean them. Urinals leaking over the floor, seemed like every joint in the pipe work leaked. More toilet roll on the floor than anywhere else. People partying till 4 in the morning with a boombox system. Security were called several times but zoomed off to save themselves. If parkdean were the last campsite operating you couldn’t pay us to go!! Love the vlogs😊
Thanks for this it will not be on our list. We have never been to a site that bad. It’s disgusting that they charge so much for a dump like that. Hopefully your next site will be much better. It couldn’t be worse. 😂
Based on this site the CMC and C&CC are excellent value for money. We are on the Chatsworth House Club site on a bank holiday with great facilities and extensive grounds to walk around and have only paid a similar amount.
There ought to be some commission checking up on those equity buyouts and how they (don't) invest in the assets. Same in buildings owned by them in high streets decaying etc.
Hi Andy and Claire. Wow what a horrific site. You can go to 5 star sites like Eye Kettleby and Old Oaks for less. We leave the van at home when going to Hartlepool stay at the Premier Inn on Quay side to visit the Trincomalee and naval museum. Thanks for warning us of this terrible place. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....
🤣🤣🤣loved all the skits especially the Botox one🤣🤣what a rip off that place is there’s nothing worse than a bad toilet and shower block never mind the self-levelling aggregate 🤣🤣brilliant as always you two👍🏻
Would love you to stay on a few CL Sites, as part of the caravan and motorhome club we tend to use them mostly as still good prices. To charge that much for dogs is disgusting x
You really made me chuckle walking down your motorhome on a slope! Lol. Thanks for the warning. We are planning to go up to the north east next spring but we will give this place a miss 😊
Thanks Andy and Cloe. Can you go to some more crap sites, Id much sooner you spend your money and warn us than I spend my own hard earned cash 😉. Absolute disgrace. Keith.
I can remember when it was £5 per night on crimdon. It was great and clean. Only went back once when that company took over. Never again..absolutely shit hole.
Looks awful!! Thanks for the update, at least people can see it for themselves, and don't book this site! Have a great week both. Dawn & Jay xx 😘 🏴🏴 & Charlie woof 🦮🐕🦺🐾🐾
Thanks for the video. What a dump. I would pee'd off if I was charged £30. The most expenive site we stayed on was in Florence £69 a night, but it had five beautiful swimming pools a superb camp shop as a big as a small supermarket, super clean and smart facilities.
I was born near there. It was a beautiful place in the 70’s. I spent many summers playing there. There was nothing but beach and green spaces. Now it’s disgusting. That’s a crying shame.
My husbands aunts had caravans there for years 60's and 70's It was a lovely place then. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole now. We drive through last year didnt even stop. Very sad decline
Great video thanks for the heads up. So many holiday parks with good statics but the touring is a mess. You need to look at your shower in the van, if you didn't have to use facilities it would open up another world. Bye for now .
As soon as you said Park Dean Resorts I knew what was coming. I've had the unfortunate experience of staying at them a couple of times in their statics and, well it was cheap, that's all I will say. Awful places, security on the door speaks volumes, and they do have to do more than just stand there if you get my drift.
Only had our camper for a few weeks but we’re about to go to stay at the foot of the Zugspitze mountain for a few nights, we’re going to pay 92 euro a night for 2p+2 dogs excl leccy and water, hope our experience is a bit better 😂 enjoyed the humor, subscribed.
Wow £56.... Great vlog on giving peepz the heads up guy's...... Did you survive the night sleeping at that angle... Hope Andys neck is better.... That pot hole, I mean your gonna need specialist recovery from there 👍❤👍
Disgraceful Site, trouble is The Caravan & Motorhome Club have now set the bar for prices with them charging £58 per night for Members 😡 we just go to France & Spain now in our Motorhome twice a year for 90 days each time In France we use Camping Carparks Sites, Lifetime Membership €5 & sites are €10 to €14 per night & they have 500 sites in France including EHU & WiFi Spain 5* Sites are around €15 to €25 per night & we only stay on Mediterranean Beachside Sites Motorhome & Caravanning is a total Rip Off in UK nowadays
You’d think if they’re charging £16 for all the dogs they could afford to employ someone to clean up after the ones whose owners don’t. Those toilet blocks looked grim. Where on earth are they actually spending your £56?
Myself and my partner went, To a Park Resorts in Lincolnshire, and stopped in a caravan, the park had a fishing lake, shop bar, loved it nice friendly staff, enjoyed the holiday, by the way love your channel Andy , Claire 😊
Have you not looked for the park areas were your allowed to stay the night, I know of a few that I'm looking forward to trying out when I get my motorhome
Its been some years ago, and apologise that I don't remember what its called or where it is, but it is in North Wales along the coast, and has statics, and my Step-son and wife were staying in a static, but we just travelled down for the day from Manchester, and the tourers are at the beginning of the site, and that was in the same condition as the one filmed. The grounds where the statics are, can't fault it. The tourers, however, was a patchwork quilt, ie, grass and sand. There were deep gouges formed by tyres digging in when its been very wet, and never filled in, so you would have to pull your caravan over the roads and hope your caravan didn't get grounded. I just said to my hubby, remember the name, we won't be coming here anytime soon🤣
Love your Vlogs… you are so funny we were laughing our heads off at the end well done and keep up the great work😊 £56 for botox is quite cheap isn’t it?
We went to a parkdean in Cornwall and it was crap, we then tried again at skipsea and it was even worse. Our dogs had another dog go for them but luckily, they're small so we could pick them up. We also saw a caravanner just chuck they're bag of rubbish on to the next pitch. Funnily enough, the food in the restaurant was awesome which was just such a shame 😢
Thanks for the heads up. That's defo a site to miss. I'd want my money back and go else where. Move on guys. Great vlog though. Nowt like a soggy pizza 🍕 x
I was half expecting you to come back to find St Chris II on bricks with your wheels gone, or maybe a couple of the natives selling Heather and pegs before a round or two of bare knuckle fighting
My daughter worked in entertainment for ten years, they pay lousy money and treat there staff like crap, this could be the reason the parks not upto scratch no staff !!
This was the first ever place we stayed when we got a caravan for the very first time.... nightmare. It is known locally as 'Criminal Dene' and unless you've been one of the people who have a static then I would recommend to stay away.
Love your videos we also had a bad experience at Crimdon Dene booked our folding camper in for 2 nights drove there went to reception woman said u cant stay we dont have a licence for trailer tents I said it's not a trailer tent, after arguing the toss for 5 mins she said u can stay at one of our sister sites ...the nearest one was near Bridlington!!
