first, a promo for NBC's ''new'' daytime lineup starting August 4, 1980 - followed by the ORIGINAL closing to AW's final 90-minute show - which I have yet to find anywhere here on YT.....
LOVE that short bumper music AW used to acknowledge the sponsors at the end of each episode during this time period....it is simply beautiful, and wished I had a recording of it without a voice over
GH and the emmy-winning GL..didn't stand much of a chance right from the beginning, along w/AW flagging - and unless i misunderstand what they were tyring to do, not much effort was made to make ''Texas'' any kind of success........
I actually liked TEXAS when it aired though our affiliate dropped it in Fall 1981 for syndicated programming, but returned when show moved to 10 AM in 1982 and I saw the last episode.
affiliate support was scant..my affiliate dropped Texas around the same time as yours and moved it to its sister station through the rest of its run (@9:00 a.m.)..my fervent wish is that episodes during the Hitopah story were somewhere to be found............
@@dannyhill8797 I remember watching Texas and probably around September 1982, storylines seemed to change and soon after, I learned about the upcoming cancellation. Really bummed about that one. I don't watch soaps anymore (since ABC axed OLTL). They're talking about reviving AMC and OLTL; I don't care to watch Erica Kane having the tennis balls on her walker rhinestoned.
@@thomas_5528 (1) if i'm not mistaken, this may have been the only time Bill Wolfe announced anything about 'Texas', most likely due to low affiliate support..(2) yea, Susan Lucci, Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser are all pushing their mid-70s - along with television and movies having run out of ideas, the best they can do is beat dead horses.....
Oh I loved this clip so much! Thanks for posting Danny. Question... do you have this full closing theme for AW? That and the full close of the first Texas theme are like the Holy Grail of tv music for me. I just want to hear both before I die!
i've already posted the full closing for the 1981-87 theme, but i haven't gotten to the 1975-81 theme yet, or the first orchestral that came around in 1973..as far as ''Texas'', i have what i believe to be most of the first Score Productions closing..i'll try to get to that one as soon as i can.......
