Granted, yes I dislike nerf ultra (and I’m cringing at elite 2.0), I would say that this might be a sign that says that nerf ultra might not be as bad as it seems. You agree?
So my thoughts on see this and the other blasters seems to revolve around this one little theory I have. Ultra darts don't work very well with Flywheels guns. The ultra one being the biggest showcase of this. But it seems when using a plunger system/springer (I'm not exactly an expert like you or Drac) it seems to excel. It's still a bit early to tell but if they release more springer guns for the ultra series it might be a good idea to test this.
Folks here are mostly wrong; it isn't for looks nor for accuracy, it's because they decided to use a gear+spring system for the returning priming handle. Gear systems take up a lot of space, plus this thing has a sizable plunger tube.
@@springsandsanity6366 it's more like Rival gears than normal Elite-esque gears; they're strong, they just make folks have to be more careful when it comes to assembly. Drac already did a modding video on this a while back and has proven that it can take a K26 spring just fine.
Hasbro would never make an ultra 95, most of us have lost faith in that including me. But I think if they pay attention to the accuracy problems there could be some form of accustrike ultra darts coming our way.
@Fuck Google Woah I never said I hated the accuracy of nerf blasters. In fact, I have many stock reverse plunger n-strike blasters in my collection that I treasure more than my modded longhot in my profile picture even if they hit everything except what I'm aiming at, I still love them. You don't know the first thing about me, and I don't know the first thing about you, but please be considerate.
So this is one where I like the form factor and it looks line a fun plinking pistol. This and the fugly upcoming shotgun are the Ultra blasters that most have my interest. I'd probably be more forgiving of Ultra if it wasn't for the price of the ammo, honestly.
If they'd priced the ammo the same as Rival, it'd probably have been a lot more well received. Hell, it can even act as a counterpart to Rival for folks that like the darts more, since they both hit around the same velocity.
@@CaptainResident agreed, I tried out the four, and I've come to the theory that it's actually the ultra flywheels that cause bad accuracy, because I hit almost every shot with the four. I doubt it's the darts, but more the blasters. I'm hoping that the ultra 7 retains this, because I'm looking forward to maybe buying it, as it is the first blaster that really fits the "compact sniper" category.
I think the ultra darts are extremely fast but can only really be used indoors so they are not effected by wind. Ultra darts HATE wind. In stationary air they are flawless. Just use them inside
I’ve already modded mine (yes ultra 4 is sold here got it two weeks ago) and the modding is bit weird. The top white part is glued all the from front till the start of the rail. Performance I’ve chucked in a turf 8kg ret spring and was getting the same performance so may need to up it. Down side is you can’t upgrade the catch spring, it’s very odd and none of my catch springs of all variants work with it. I’ve yet though to rebarrel it for elite darts

i think the real purpose of the ultra line is found: "competive" plungers(well as comp as hasbro's profit goals) now just wait for a cesa styled blaster and offbrand ultra darts with better accurecy

as an owner of this blaster, it being my first ultra blaster, it isnt horrible. its hard to hit things with but i love sending screamers down range with it, firing them up in the air and having them rain down at unfathomable distances which does in fact make my little brother fearful, since i always have a better accuracy sidearm with me while using the U4.
I do have to say I've got 2 rival guns since I started back Nerfing and they are accurate 30 to 40ft out. One is the Takedown and the other is the Mercury I love them both!!
The only problem I had with mine was a Walcom-Elite 2.0-style-right-out-of-the-box-would't-fire. Turns out one dart wasn't good. I had to push the others in all the way and sort of squishing the tips but didn't seem to hurt them. It was the last one my Target had so I didn't exchange it. I got the box o 20 darts and those work. It does pack some punch but darts fly upwards indoors. At least it doesn't take batteries. I do like it when it works. The side dart holders are nice.
Clean the dart before loading, for more consistent results.(gun relies on a good seal to create positive pressure behind the dart). A bit of saliva works a treat.
Hey bawler...I just got the ultra 5 yesterday and if this is anything like it just apply some airgun holds and trigger follow through. The horizontal play is from the trigger action...well...some of it is. These are too fast for the light ammo.
mod it to hell man! the best blasters are forged in fire :P you could always replace the gears with something more beefy and/or direct if they seem weak, and going down to elite slugs in my opinion looks promising. hope to see good things from it, maybe enough to convince me to get one when/if they become an option in NZ.
Nerf ultra is actually my favourite series although people may not like it I really like the look and preformance of them Some of the gimmicks are very cool and I think people should give it another chance
The dart storage kinda works? Isn’t it like super easy to take off and it doesn’t come off easily or did nerf pull a cheap move and remove the same dart storage system as same as the ultra one because the dart storage on that is amazing
I don't see why they couldn't of made the priming handle into a block that ran flush with the rest of the back of the blaster. Is there a reason for this. Video is looking great. ThankQ.TkEZ>UK
A cool mod would be to replace the pull priming mechanism with a slide. And imagine that and also putting a barrel lug on it... James Bond pistol with a a spectre barrel lol. I’m getting too exited on these random cosmetic mods Edit: yeah I know that n strike barrel lugs won’t work on ultra stuff I was an idiot lol Actually. The spectre barrel has a bigger inner diameter might just work. Idk
Try adding the zombies Nerf crossbow not like the actual crossbow like the little one I mean like the big one with the whistling arrows it has a detachable scope and it could fit the ultra 4 so that means it could actually be accurate more
And, if the fact that it's so easy to barrel old mega down to standard micro darts still applies, this might be a competent replacement for something like the Tech Target Eliminator as a big single shot blaster, likely even as something that can take more than one ammo type if you use a barrel insert to cut it down. I mean, the AR would have to go, and it doesn't really hold a candle to the Kronos in modding due to not having a bolt thus regulating it to a single shot blaster, but still.
I actually have this and once I was just shooting it down my house then all the sudden the Dart after 35 feet took a 90° turn and dived into the ground
Hey Walcom I loved the vid but u really should not say that rival is not accurate because at 20 ft I would say it is the most accurate besides some half lengths
This thing reminds me of a chinese copy frontloader of a maverick, it's kinda the same but with ultra 2. Edit: Conclusion of the video, ultra needs a accustrike.
