Sounds like a pretty perfect pale ale. 🍺 I love this combo of classic citrus pine with modern fruit. I recently had a westie that was all mosaic and Columbus for the same effect, one of the best beers I’ve had in recent memory.

Another first class and informative video Richard👍 It just so happens my next brew will be a West Coast Style IPA so I have been working on my recipe the last week or so. I think your recipe and interpretation of the style was first class and the result in the competition proved that👍 I will be working on Columbus, Amarillo, Cascade and Eldorado in my recipe and will mix lager malt with Maris otter plus a little bit of dextrin and caragold. If its a bit out of style guidelines I won’t worry too much as it isn’t for a competition😂😂😂 Cheers mate and thank you. I learn so much from you👍👍 👍

Your videos just get better and better with their quality pal. Really informative and a great review . I will certainly be stealing the recipe but may sub out the malt for something I have in stock and I’m not a fan of bry-97 personally so that will be switched as well 😂. Really look forward to your content dropping as it’s one I always ensure I always watch. Brilliant stuff

Cracking video rich, we have about a kilo of each of 2019 Amarillo and 2022 centennial, definitely gives us a better insight on how to use them 😎 Cheers - Fenton

Cheers mate, both brilliant hops for beers like this one, you could use them as a pairing or do similar to this recipe and add something a bit more tropical for WP and dry hop on top of them in the hotside. Also well worth trying an all centennial brew like the bells 2 hearted clone

I keg everything so bottles are done with an iTap counter pressure system

Excellent video Richard, this is a beer i can heartily recommend as i brewed it 3 months ago and it was banging and one i'll be doing again pretty soon, mine somehow had a lovely creaminess to it as well as being well balanced between the malt and hops...any idea how it got the creaminess to it?? Used your WP btw...and used CML Five as the yeast.

Cheers Gary I was hoping you would chime in to give your feedback! No idea what brought the creamy character on your version tbh, five/US05 can be associated with a bit of a peachy ester but not really something I would call creamy as such however as the yeast was the only difference recipe wise maybe something to do with that..

@@DudesBrews after checking the recipe i did, I used a 50/50 Extra Pale and Chevallier Heritage Malt [7 ebc] as the main part of the grist, whatever caused the creaminess made it a spanking beer which didn't hang around for long 🙂

@@DudesBrews WP for that version of Go West as follows: Ca2+ 69 Mg2+ 11 Na+ 14 Cl- 36 SO4- 173 HCO3-12 the ratio was 4.8 to 1

Sounds and looks very good! I think the EBC are a little bit darker, maybe 10-12. But Overall a nice recipe! I do my pale ale ales mostly like yours, but i like it between 35-40 IBU. Thx and greetz from south germany ❤🍻👍

Cheers! Think you are probably right on the ebc it does look a bit more honey/amber coloured than you might expect at the predicted number 👍🏻
