Thermally I think it would be fine with that fan, since it'll only kick on when it gets too hot, but I'm also curious if the WiFi is affected. For a NAS you'd want to use wired ethernet if it's available, but it's still an interesting question.

Looks good, but it's too bad they didn't change those micro-HDMI to full-size like the Argon ONE M.2. Functionality-wise, this is the same as the NESPi 4 case. That one's plastic and includes a power supply for $40, whereas this one is metal and doesn't look like a toy for $56. For comparison, the Argone ONE M.2 is $45. Each has its pros and cons.

Thanks, Prime. The all-in cost (albeit with a massive assumption on pi4 at retail) for (1) the pi, and (2) this case is better than one of the popular low-powered 4x4 UCFF x86. However for that slight amount more, some may prefer Windows/x86 plus a USB 3.x Gen 1x2/2x1 port. Who knows. Kindest regards, friends and neighbors.

Reading reviews on Amazon I notice people talking about bluetooth problems with the metal case. I imagine Wifi might also be affected. The other issue is, it runs on the higher side temp wise but not to the point it throttles under stress testing. Still, I could care less about BT and for a NAS it'll be connected by ethernet to my router. I suspect some modifications might resolve the temps as well. This is what I always see with Geekworm, great ideas with the implementation not quite fully there. The minor details always seem to be overlooked with them.

So, I can you test this case with the analogue video output? I tested 3 separate Argon 2 cases and none of them worked properly with the analog video output. The jack was just a millimeter or so too far out for it to register and it was super disappointing. I know this because if I disconnected the two HDMI ports, twisted the daughter board a little so that the 3.5mm jack when in all the way, the analog video would work through the daughter board. But no matter how hard I tried to force the board in normally it wouldn't work when it was in the correct way. So it would be nice if you could test this to make sure it's fully functional. Otherwise, this was a pretty good video.

Sweet case design. But as with other similar cases I’m not a fan because of a few things. No HAT install is possible, I prefer USB-C power to GPIO, and the ugly USB3 connector to SSD is external.
