My mother just recently passed. We live in Flint Mi, and most my family went to Kearsley schools which is the same school Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad went to. I'm my moms youth, her best best friend was Sandy. Sandy went with Craig Frost who played first in GFR, then with Bob Seger...She had stories...All I'm gonna say.

This song is a work of absolute genius. I love how you said "made you nostalgic for a time that you never lived in.". And I love how you immediately noticed that it is a multidimensional song -- the firt part a reminiscence on youth and sexuality and thrill-seeking, thematically linked to Summer, and the second part reflective, older, middle-aged even, and Autumnal. This song is really about the whole life cycle to me -- in infers or implies birth, youth, maturity, ripening, aging and death. Such powerful and profound poetry, wrapped up in a totally danceable rock tune. Kudos to the two of you for really appreciating it so totally and so quickly.

The little touch of the Hammond church organ brought you deeper into the story. The ending, building slowly to that soulfull crescendo letting you know how sweet the memory was. His voice so full into it. An all time classic. That song will never get old. It'll be here when we're all done and gone.

This song gets deeper and sadder with each listen. When it feels like he's not just talking about youth and memories but how we all get older, and it's slow and creeping like a storm you can't do anything about but accept, that's just how life comes at you. Even when we're all pulled in at the beginning of our youths, just like the song.

Old Time Rock & roll was written by Muscle Shoals Song writer, George Jackson who had just finished writing a song for a kid named Michael Jackson. Across town at FAME STUDIOS, Rick Hall beat everyone one to the punch. He produced Jackson's song called one Bad apple which sold millions for the Osmonds. George wasn't happy but he still made a lot of money from it! . After the legendary Barry Beckett fumbled on the intro of Old time Rock and roll. After a skull session, they decided to leave Barry' little Stutter on the record. The song wouldn't be as good without it.

The thing about Bob Seger is nearly all of his songs are telling a story, but the story is always about the emotions experienced. He doesn't even really name the emotions; he just lets the music and lyrics make you feel the emotions. He's genius. The other thing I get from every one of his songs is a tenderness and respect towards humanity and the human experience. I just wrote four paragraphs trying to explain how his songs make a listener feel about people, then I erased it. I couldn't describe, in hundreds of words, what he did in a handful of words.

Bob Segar is the best story teller singer ever I think. A bit rock, a bit country, a bit blues. He epitomizes the fusion of how the blend and evolution of music styles and genres influenced one another and formed a new one. Bob was one of my dad's favorite artists of all time. "Like a Rock" was his anthem "spirit song". You'd no doubt recognize it from the Chevy Truck commercials. This is my favorite song by far. Such a crowd pleaser. I sang and played the drums to this song at work for talent show we did - my buddy Ben played the acoustic guitar. You know who hated it? no one. This is my first time seeing The Adventures of TNT. You two provided the BEST reaction to, and understanding of, "Night Moves" that I've heard from all the folks doing song reactions on facebook. No way I could not sign up, so I'm your newest subscriber. I'm looking forward to more!

Thank You for doing this song, my all time favorite. I'm from Detroit, where Bob is from, I've seen him in concert about 15 times, the first in 1980, the last in 2019, he was just as good as he was 39 years before. If you haven't done Ramblin Gambling Man yet, try that, Glen Frey of the Eagle's singing back up, recorded in 65 released in 68. Bob Dryer also helped write The Eagles -Heartache Tonight.

Bob is and will always be in my top 3. The childhood memories of his voice in the dark of the night while camping, drives with friends out to the river to party, and the memories he helps provide today. Bob is American rock and roll
