Oh man. I LOVE that you show the nodes zoomed in and everything. Because most of the times I watch those kind of videos on my phone and other YT keep them really small. Appreciate the little more effort you put into it! :)
I love how quickly this texture was created and applied - coming from an After Effects and Blender world, this video moves me farther and farther away from After Effects.
How do you scale your texture? I'm currently using a texture of bricks for a vfx shot of a massive town square and can't figure out how to make the bricks the appropriate size.
Casey, how can you use that background as a back scene for our viideos? Like, put myself in front of that as if you just recorded yourself in front of a brick wall?
yes, thats pretty much what a bump map is. except a displacement map actually changes the geometry so to speak, where a bump map gives the illusion of surface texture in regard to how light behaves on said texture.
Be good to see a virtual street scene made up in Fusion, with this idea. So by filming actors against green screen, you could then place them in a virtual set, all in resolve.
Fun tutorial, Casey! "wonderful news" lol Quick note: You don't actually need a ReplaceMaterial3D node for Shape3D, it has it's own material input. You do, however, need one for Text+ which does not have a material input. Looking forward to more 3D goodness :)
Hey Casey ! I've just downloaded davinci resolve studio 17 and I don't know why but it struggles with some effects like "motion trails" or "stop motion" or any other effect . When I want to playback the clip where I've added the effect it struggles a lot . I've done all those tips to make davinci resolve work smoother and it still does't work ! I have even re-installed it but nothing changed . I don't think it's because of my computer , it has 16 gb ram , 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7 . Do you have any solution to that ? 😭😩
Brilliant!!! Ready to dive in and try to do the same effect onto a moving shape, say, a big guy to get a Fantastic 4 look. (Erm... was I subtle at all? 😄). Thanks Cassey. Subscribing, liking and sharing!
Very nice! Side note, I would really like to know how you did the displacement (or whatever it’s called, the wonky lines) in the lower part of the video during the short VHS effect? I recently edited a video where I added VHS effects, but I just couldn’t figure out how to do that at the bottom, and eventually ran out of time so I had to skip it. I would love to know how you did it.
@@flipnap2112 do you have any names? I tried finding some when I added a VHS effect last time, but couldn’t find any that did that specific part of the effect.
Hello Big fan off your videos just wanted ask u ques i recently bought a laptop for editing on resolve. Spec ryzen 7 4700, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd, raedeon 512mb gpu but whn i start editing resolve hangs up Is it cause off my 8 gb ram r gpu? Thanks in advance
Mr. Casey I am ashish from India I am your new suscriber. I need your suggestion. Pls tell me honestly that will lenovo ipad 330 8gb ram with no ssd , i5 laptop can run davinci resolve studio 17 smoothly or not. If it will run then I will watch your all tutorials at 1080p. Pls reply .
Hello Casey! This truly hepls, so thankU. I have a suggestion tho: "Can u make a tutorial on how to remove 1 pimple on face in a video?" *hope you'll do this some day, thankU! Edit: (or you can send me a link if you have already a vid about the basics of disappeaing stuffs)
Great tut but when I tried it on my computer it brought it to its knees - an i9 @ 4GHz with a P4000 GPU. Not the fastest machine but I was surprised how difficult Resolve found it to render (bringing the rest of Resolve to a standstill). Time for an M1 Max? lol
Me: *watches the commentary on the Inside Out DVD where they talk about lighting animated scenes* Also me: I wonder if I can do something like that in DaVinci with fusion nodes Casey: YES.
Hi Casey if you've got 5 min for a comment, can you explain quickly why colors in my fusion viewers look completely off? I've tried luts and everything, but nothing makes colors in fusion look right from the start
I hope you’re tracking me because I’ve been sitting here waiting for that next video to pop up so I can watch it but it’s not happening. I’m gonna need some compensation here, brother. It’s been about 18 hours so far!
So now I finally figured out why you like fusion so much… You know every nick and cranny. I could’ve done the same thing in cinema 4D Way way easier. And it’s funny because you say see how easy? But of course it’s not. But everything is easy if you’re really good at it.
Yes, that's the whole point! Even more awesome would be a fake 3D interior, e.g. featuring a nice fire place (made with particles system)... Maybe Casey could do a quick tutorial on how to make that?
Please note to anyone using a Quadro GPU check your Memory size. My laptops GPU is a Quadro T1000 4gb. I can't use the 6k texture model or else fusion will crashing telling me GPU memory full. Go with a 3k texture instead!
6k textures are insanely too big and rarely needed. in the 3D world most people use VERY small texture sizes. if its a 6K texture you need for background video, probably should render a single frame and use it with green screen keying. to process a 3D 6K map is extremely graphics intensive. most 3D maps you see in games and some film are actually closer to 320*240 tiled, if even that big.
I think there is a video by some other dude (s). I had the same idea as you to put a noen text in front of it haha just search for it on YT. I think there is a new one like 2 weeks old
@@Fjdt12 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RuvjBAXj7g0.html Maybe this helps?! IT is not 3D but maybe you can watch a Video about normal 3d Text and combine both videos haha
