Here is a great overview of how particles work in the fusion page of DaVinci Resolve 16. We cover the basics of an emitter, different particle styles, and how to get started if you're a beginner with particles. Particles can be used to make fire, smoke, and other natural things for compositing and graphics. As well as more

Specifically 3D particles and interactions with other particles, plains, 3d models... Stardust has been my go-to and I'd love to see what features Resolve has by comparison.

You’ve been helping me out a lot lately Casey thank you. I used to edit with Adobe premier pro about 11 years ago but I didn’t have a way to keep up with it because of the price. This has really helped me a lot to learn something new and hopefully start a new career some day. It’s been really hard to find out what to do with my life but your videos have been giving me a lot of hope for my future. I just want to keep learning and improving. Thanks again

Thanks so much for this. Very cool. I was looking at the pEmitter before this but for the life of me couldn't see any of my particles hahah. I raided the settings to see what I could find and had to imagine what they might do. Was great for you to then show us basically each one. I'm getting ideas now and keen to see what I can do.

Thank you for this!!!! I wish that there were more tutorials which would go through all the "buttons and levers" of a single node, explaining how you use them AND when you might want to use them. In general it's tough to find entry level tutorials for more advanced software. Most people making tutorials seem to assume that if you're using robust software then you're probably already well versed in mograph / vfx concepts and the generic names for tools. And that may be a fair assumption about most viewers. I know plenty of BMD users are switching over from layer-based systems. But for wee folk like me who are just getting our toes wet and skipped over the layer-based software, it's really refreshing to find a tutorial which teaches not just where to find the relevant controls but also gets into the nitty gritty of the inspector modifiers.

Hey Casey, I love your tutorials. I recently switched from Adobe CC to Davinci Resolve and your videos help me a lot to bridge the gap between the two softwares. I am very happy that I did switch because I love the UI of Davinci. It's fantastic! Btw what screen capture software do you use? That circle and the little arrows while scrolling are very neat... It makes the tutorial perfect in every detail ;)

Dude much appreciated. See I'm a self taught designer. Essentially that just means I've taught myself how to design websites, vectors, edit pictures and create notion graphics from watching hundreds of youtube videos and embracing the spirit of trial and error. Some times when it comes to utilising a new software I shy away and avoid trying the software out if it seems especially difficult. Which is essentially davinci resolve in a nut shell... A bunch of different menus and controls that end up looking super intimidating until you have someone show you otherwise. That being said I've been saying I wanted to learn motion graphics like really hunker down and learn motion graphics since like March of this year (2020) I've had davinci resolve for some times. But I've never been able to really use it because my pc was garbo. So when I got my new pc back in March was when. I decided I was gonna try this motion graphics thing out. But every time I started trying I got terrified and confused.
@1Korand
@1Korand 3 года назад
Frankly there aren't many good videos out there to help out with fusion controls unless you really know what to search for. At first I would search things like motion graphics from davinci resolve. And would get poorly animated intro videos that don't talk about basics and only follow a specific tutorial format. Which I've never found helpful. But your videos really teach what the controls are and what they do. Which has really helped me out. It's like you're teaching people how to fish rather than just giving them the fish. Keep up the good work, and thanks a lot.
