Haha this reminds me of when me and the other girls were in elementary, it was 7th grade so we had all just started puberty so most of the girls had already started menstruating. We had a male math teacher that wouldn't let us go to the bathroom even after we explained "it's an emergency" because apparently we were "too young to start menstruating". Like ummmm ok was I supposed to tell the blood to go back in my body because I was apparently "too young"? Like why would I lie about that if litteraly there are tears in one girl's eyes because she was embarrassed about leaking blood all over the chair. Elementary Teachers can be borderline insane sometimes

One time the teacher forced me to do my homework in the hallways, sitting on the floor (there were no outside seats), the same teacher held me from going home because i hadn't drank up all of my water, so i had to finish all of them on the spot, she also held me from going home until about 5 PM because i failed a post test by writing the question and the answer repeated for 5, 10, 20, sometimes 50 times. I remember one time in fifth grade, during the last day of school, when it was also a kid's birthday party, he gave out some cheap, but cool gifts, like those colorful, "pearly" necklaces that you see in the dollar store. An hour later, during a party in the cafeteria, me and another guy were joking around, and flipping our necklaces around our necks, when some teacher confiscated them for our "misbehavior", then proceeded to give them away to a disabled kid, even though they were our property. I wasn't really bothered by the event then, and didn't have the guts to say anything to anyone, or my parents, but looking back on it, it really annoys me. Not because I had something taken away from me, but because a teacher can just assert their power like that on a kid without consequence.

In my elementary, we had clips. The worst was red, and best was purple. There was this one weird kid that happened to be very picky, and they got their clip moved down to red (remember, the worst) because they wouldn't eat a PB&J or Goldfish. If you got those last colors you were basically a bad person in my 2nd grade class. So yeah my teacher in 2nd grade sucked and she would move kids down to yellow, orange, or red if she just didn’t like them in general.

Once I told my teacher in fifth grade I had a headache. She told me “I had a headache yesterday too and I still came to school.” Later that day I was sent to the hospital and the doctors told me I was anemic and on the verge of death :/ Edit: I want to explain a little bit more about what happened: I started my period at the age of 10, abnormal for our family who usually started at the ages between 12-15. Because of my poor and unhealthy eating habits, my period progressively became heavier and hurt more. Being the shy ad quiet kid I am, I didn’t open to this with anyone, neither my parents (tho they did notice but I always told them I was fine as to not worry them). By October 13, 2015, I couldn’t stand the leakage and pain anymore, I had had my period for a full month by then. So for once I had the guts to ask my teacher to go to the nurse because on top of my period pain, I had a horrible headache. Only for her to say no. I didn’t have the guts to ask my next teacher so I held onto the pain. Which didn’t work because during lunch break I had fallen and literally couldn’t get back up. My legs didn’t work on me because of the lack of blood flow going there. I was finally sent to the nurse and then home for a fever. After a series of events at the hospital, I was diagnosed with anemia, lack of red cells in my body that helped the flow of blood in the body. I had a 4 hour blood transfusion before being sent home with prescription medicine (basically iron supplements). My teachers didn’t know of this until my father complained to the school months later, which they took me aside and lectured me about telling them about this stuff… but at the same time they should’ve noticed how ill one of their students were: I was pale, came back with bloody pants from the restroom (plus constant bathroom breaks), I constantly sat on the floor because my legs gave out, they should’ve known something was wrong with me as they were with me 1/3 of the day. Nothing happened to the teachers. Haven’t heard about them in 6 years. I’m much healthier than I was before, and I recovered fully 4 years ago. Thank you for everyone worrying about me, I am fine < 3 For those who are now scared about getting you’re periods, don’t be! This is a rare case to happen to people as young as I was, this is more commonly seen in older women between 30-40 (if I remember correctly from what the doctor said). Just remember to eat enough foods with iron in them! Edited again for those saying it’s too long ;-; my apologies. Hope this goes through a little better.

Once in 3rd grade, I wasn't paying attention in class and so they called in a administrator to get me to do my work and when I still wouldn't do my work, he hit me with folded my work paper and hit me with it. Then lunch time came around but he told me to stay in class and he wanted me to tell him why I wouldn't do my work before he comes back in the classroom. Few minutes later than he comes back and he goes "tell why you wouldn't do your class work?" And I wouldn't say nothing so he *punched* me in my stomach and of course I cried then he let me go to lunch. I get to the cafeteria and everyone is questioning why I'm crying and I said "that dude with the zebra striped glasses hit me in the stomach😭" and they didn't believe me. After I got home I immediately told my dad and then he called the school and asked to put that administrator on the phone and the administrator said he didn't do nothing and my dad couldn't do nothing sense he didn't have video proof.

so here are my terrible elementary teacher stories: in 2nd grade, I had a teacher who fancied herself a comedian. We used to have these little math worksheets that were organized A-Z and you would do them and then get graded on them, and if you got a passing grade you would move onto the next one. Well, some of the harder ones (Like T-Z) were multiplication, which we didn't learn until 3rd grade. Since I was a pretty smart kid, I managed to work my way up to the multiplication worksheets pretty quickly. When I finally did my first multiplication sheet, I brought it up to her for grading, and I (of course) didn't do well. While I was sad that I didn't do well, I wasn't too beat up over it because I was a literal child back then and I was more concerned about what I was gonna do when I got home. So then my teacher said "Maggie, just so you know, if you can't get through A-Z by the end of the year, you'll be held back". That was a joke, but my small child brain couldn't process that, so I got really sad and cried when I got home because I thought I was gonna be held back and I would lose all of my friends. Then my other bad teacher story was my 4th grade math teacher. This story revolves around an assignment we had in her class where we had to complete 121 long division problems. in one night. When I was a kid, I didn't understand long division, and I was too scared to ask for help with it because I was always the "smart kid" and I didn't really know how to ask. So I ended up having a mental breakdown that night trying to do 121 problems of something that I didn't understand. In the end, I wasn't able to finish it in time, so that was my first late assignment. If I remember correctly, I definitely wasn't the only person to turn that assignment in late, which makes sense because giving 121 problems to a 9-YEAR OLD is absolutely ridiculous

fr because way too many adults expect children to understand sarcasm and those types of jokes without teaching them what it means. up until a certain point, i feel like most kids can't really understand how lying could be funny but i'm not a psychologist or anything so don't take my word for it. in my opinion it's just common sense to be direct and clear to kids so they grow up knowing how to communicate without being passive aggressive or sarcastic

The yelling thing is so true!! So in my Elementary school, in kindergarten each class has 2 teachers, idk why, it just was. So my class was pretty well behaved, as far as kindergarteners go, like we were (almost) always quiet in the hallways, we paid attention, y'know, we were a good class. So, my main teacher, let's call her Miss Smith, was in the classroom, drinking coffee or whatever, and my assistant teacher or something, let's call her Miss Parker (yes I did steal the original commenters last name I couldnt think of anything ok), was taking us all inside from recess. And we were just running around and stuff, and were all 5-6 year olds, so we are squirrelly little kids, and we're going to act like them, ok!! So we were walking in and we were talking to each other, being noisy as little kids are, and once we get back to our class room, Miss Smith is furious. She yells for like half an hour, she screams and shouts, and stuff. It was awful. I remember that at least five kids were sobbing their eyes out, and one of them was my friend, and I wanted to comfort her or something but I couldnt because they all were in time out - *time out for crying after being yelled at* - and we were just supposed to put our heads on the desk and think about what we did. Like, what the heck lady! Maybe your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner broke up with you, but we are KINDERGARENTERS!! And then all of my 1-3 and 5-6 grade teacher would SCREAM at the class, the entire class, if one person dared step one foot out of line. It could be potentially traumatizing to someone to have these teachers, "your supporters and friends" scream at you for acting like a little kid when you are one. What. The. Actual. Heck. Was. Their. Problem.

I remember when I was in Kindergarten we were learning how to do addition and subtraction with little counters. My parents have already taught me how to do addition and subtraction so this wasn't an issue for me at all. I actually went without the counters only because I didn't really need them. As it turns out, the teacher was watching me. I didn't know since I was more focused on my assignment rather than looking throughout the classroom. When I was finished, I got my paper and took it up to the teacher. Apparently she did not like that I was using the counters, and rather than doing anything that might be normal and either asking me to use the counters, or even just saying I did a good job not using the counters, she ripped up the paper I was using and handed me a new paper and said, "Use the counters."

maybe the teacher thought that you were being lazy and didn't want to use to counters; I guess it was her way of getting you to develop a habit of using something useful. however, if this was the case, I find it really shitty how she assumed that you weren't already skilled in addition and subtraction instead of asking whether you really knew how to do all those things. overall, she's still a bad teacher.

As it turns out, a couple years later I realized that my teacher thought I was sticking up the middle finger, even though I had no idea what that was, another kid was bending it, not me, and it wasn’t even like flipping someone off at all. The teacher was talking to some students and I don't ever interrupt the teacher, of even talk much in general, especially even more back then. But this time was the one exception and I butted through the queue of people. I'm pretty sure she was about to seriously tell me off but I quickly said "*Kid's name*'S HEAD IS BLEEDING!". He had to go to the hospital and get stitches, I think it was quite a serious injury and he got about 5-7. After that, he would always say to me how I saved his life. I asked what happened and keep in mind our school has a horribly staffed Chinese immersion program (giving kids black eyes for talking in class). His teacher told him to go into the strict Chinese teacher class and get a student and bring them to the classroom. He tried to and the Chinese teacher told him to stop disrupting class. He walked out the doorway muttering “stupid teacher” and before he could look up he was pinned to the outside wall. He tried fighting back but this insane woman kept scratching and kicking him until the assistant principal (who’s an angel btw bless her not just for this incident) walked in the hallway at l that moment to stop the fight. When the kid finished this story, the principal came and took him for further investigation.

I remember distinctly that my year one teacher told the class to "stop writing the number 5 in one go, you have to do it in two parts" because i guess she saw some people doing it? (We were supposed to write the bottom and then the top in two separate lines) after she said that i started writing my fives in one line because it was faster. I don't know but it's just strange that she got so annoyed by this that she had to essentially make an announcement to the entire class that you're not allowed to write the number five in one stroke. I also had this batty old lady the next year but luckily for me I got her on the one year that she was babysitting her grandkids, every single Thursday and Friday the entire year, so we got a really fun substitute teacher and it was the highlight of every week

quick story time: I was finishing second grade and me and my sister brought in these dr. sues books that every teacher would sign at the end of the year, it meant a lot to our mom and was a really cute idea. she had the whole day to sign them, but that afternoon she told us she needed more time to write something good so she would keep them and give them back once she wrote something, mind you it was the last day of school. us being the 2nd graders we were, said ok and didn't think much of it. that was also the year we switched back to homeschooling. she never gave those books back

This reminds me of when I was in fifth grade and how my teacher at the time dealt with my shyness. She yelled at me in front of the entire class, telling me that if my class was in the road and a big truck was coming, I wouldn’t be able to call out for them to move. She was basically saying that I’d let my class die. I think she was trying to bring me out of my shell, but I think all it did was push me further into it. There was a similar situation like this the same year. I ended up starting middle school terrified of people. I told my mom about it years later and she was like “why didn’t you tell me?! I would have made sure she was out of there!” It’s a shame I never said anything 😔 Anyway, I’m a Junior in university now. Still shy and lowkey scared of people, but at least I know how to deal with it better. 😂

I always hated it when teachers would call on me when I didn't have my hand raised to answer a question, but there were like 7 other people who did. I think they were trying to get me to say something and be less shy, but it only made my anxiety about getting called on in class worse, even if I knew the answer, but just didn't raise my hand. Once they called on me the answer POOFed and all that was left was panic.

Although I barely remember elementaty school I do remember having a nice teachers who actually listened if we told them that we were picked on by another person. So I remember the teacher took me seriously when another classmate kept on bothering me to the point where I cried. Luckily the teacher sat me down and talked to me and then the kid to understand what was going on before the problem escalated.

When I was in fifth grade my teacher threw a desk at a wall. Well she had a sorta decent reason. Some kid stabbed another kid with a pencil. Edit: Alright some people have questions so to clear up some things, this is what happened. So when I was in 5th grade my class was a split class for some 4th graders and 5th graders. There were these two kids who were best friends and still are even after the incident. One of them was a bit crazy and pretty violent. I'll name him kid B, and the other one kid A. So kid A decided to steal a pencil from his psychotic best friend. Well kid B did not like that at all. So he proceeded to grab ANOTHER pencil that he had (the dude had multiple pencils so idk why he went insane it wasn't special to him) and stab kid A in the wrist. And it was pretty deep. But before kid B could go for another strike, kid A yelled and the teacher rushed over. When she found out what happened, she was pretty pissed that her student got hurt for a very stupid reason. Kid A bled a bit and was sent to the nurse's office, kid B on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. My teacher told kid B to back up and go to the wall. She then proceeded to grab kid B's desk and throw it pretty hard against the wall and yelled at kid B at the top of her lungs. When mad, she's terrifying so kid B was mortified and sobbing. Also he's a 4th grader and cries easily, so yeah. She didn't make a hole in the wall though. Both kid A and B got detention because I'm pretty sure kid A punched kid B before he yelled for help.

So I had a hormone issue growing up, and I was like, 8 or 9 when I started my period as well as a growth spurt and getting acne. The first time I had gotten my period was randomly on a weekend, and it had been happening for a couple days and I hadn’t really told my parents, I just though somehow blood was getting into my pee or whatever. Fast forward 2 days, it was time to go to school and we were just driving there. From experience, usually days 2 and 3 are my heaviest for cramps and blood, so I was just sitting in the car like “ok I wanna die I think I got a urinal infection god save me” and my mom quickly noticed that I was uncomfortable af. We called in the school and told them that we were going to me late. she brought me on the couch and asked me if I was alright, I kinda just was quiet in the moment and I think at some point she realized “oh fck so this is what’s happening here” Long story short, she realized I had my period, got me a pad and educated me, and I went to school. There was a new teacher a couple days later because an old one had retired and I was having c r a m p s that day so I was just sitting in my seat dying. Keep in mind, this was a male teacher and I have no idea what kind of education he got, but jesus first was this guy uneducated. He started asking my weird ass questions like “why tf are you sitting like that?” And “you’re disturbing the people next to you stop wiggling around” and also he had BEEN TOLD about my early puberty stages but apparently this goddamn idiot didn’t know anything. at one point he reported me to the fcking principal’s office because I was “going to the bathroom too much” Anyways, idk what happened to him but I hope other girls don’t have to deal with his bullshit :)

one time in fifth grade we were highlighting rando stuff which was unimportant, our teacher strictly said "use two bright highlighters", so i did but i had more of a deep blue one (it was displayed as a neon cyan color) and one stereotypical yellow one. she went up to me and yelled at me, took me out to the hallway and just yelled about how she said to use a bright highlighter while talking about how annoyingly shy and quiet i was. she said i stand out more for having longer hair and having it cover my eyes. had literally nothing to do with the highlighter although that's why she was yelling at me. the kids in the class shutup and i vividly remember one kid going to shut the door to the hallway. i was incredibly shy and for some reason she had no idea why. she'd also make unnecessarily rude comments about me to poke fun and "help socialize me" (???) which would absolutely ruin my day.

It was really embarrassing and I know everyone remembers it but at least none of my friends know, unless I told them. Idk. She also told me I’d get an award for doing good in class (our school does an awards assembly every month where the kids who did well would get awards) but when it came down to it, I was never called. I was lied to. She has singlehandedly embarrassed me for life and made me have trust problems.
